Take the H beams to full fence height, bolt timbers in between them, to the front flange of the H beam, then run the feather edge right through?

Good idea, but steel is £££ compared to timber and timber rails is piss quick to put up with the paslode.

I seem to remember a case recently where a retaining wall was built with a fence ontop, which fell over and crushed someone, the company got bent over backwards! I’d deffo get a insured and designed plan to work from, just covers your back and means you can sleep easy at night

for 6x2 posts nailed to 5 sleepers to pull overthe wall held in the rsj's would be the end of the world i think.

Now if it was 12ft conc block/brick wall then yes i would spend 2-3k on an engineer.

That's expensive for a builder. Cheaper to pay the HSE

Maybe a few quid for steel, but buy once, cry once.
It’s also readymade fence posts, so saves on buying posts and time fixing them. Never rot off and will stay as true as you put them in, if deep enough. Bolting the rails to them isn’t the end of the world, unless you really do want to do everything with a nail gun?

just shot fire the rails on with a black cartridge .... have nailed miles of timber to steel .. no prob.s with the right tack
