Not a option to batter back due to mess.

Issue with the boxes is extracating them as we pour the concrete due to them being stacked.

Agreed, but the same costs and maintenance will be associated with the treatment tank anyway so can all be done with the annual service.

Yep, but alas no.

There is room, but customer does'nt like mess.... I've already turned some of his lawn (about a 5%) into a ploughed field, so I don't think he would appreciate the loss of another 10% despite it being the best solution.

This is a case of making a job fit the customers unreal expectations. Making mess vs making the job as safe as possible....no brainer really. If customer doesnt understand that then bugger them and let next mug do it.

What size/shape of tank are you putting in. Is there a chance of digging hole putting manhole rings in as shoring then putting tank in middle. Conc between tank and rings and then backfill just leave rings in.

Tanks nion 10' wide, so rings will be too heavy to handle

Yeah I see that now after looking back through page. If you can't get away with battering back piles must surely be you're only then.

Did a job years ago for tank 4m deep sheet piles and hydraulic beams like in Lynch's vid but instead of driving the sheets down we dug around edges first with 18" bucket dropped sheets down back filled set up beams placed one on top of other with top one hooked over top of sheets and lower one chained to one above
Excavated out till top one can't drop anymore pumped it out until solid then dig down till lower one maxed out on chains the pump out to secure it then dig to desired depth of excavation
Did it with my 4.5 hitachi at the time they did get a 7 ton in to dig it but couldn't get the depth my machine had better reach so stayed to do the job only just lifted tank in with it mind as we filled with concrete we took lower beams out then upper ones then the sheets while concrete was still soft and liquid

Just to wrap this up. Should in theory come in at under £2000, for the gear to do the job properly.... Cheap in my opinion.... probably not in the clients opinion.
