hi guys, I hope everything is fine, sorry if I disturb, an acquaintance of mine would like to splurge, buy a truck with crane to be a master and rent it and rent it, what type of truck would you recommend to do a bit of everything a versatile multi-purpose truck, a big one or medium, how many aces 2, 3 4? what traction 2x4 -4x4, 6x4, - 8x4,? what kind of crane, which boom conformation and capacity, what is the ideal boom length? would like to use it also as a basket for facades, the idea would be transport, industrial removals, industrial dismantling and assembly, demolition, machinery transport. the body or tipper to work on construction sites and supply them with material and supply them, or the flatbed truck to transport heavy machinery, as brands we have restricted to volvo a man and scania, mercedes discarded for the cost of spare parts and maintenance, I had suggested iveco , he believes not very reliable, like brand cranes or Palfinger or Hiab, who have heard robust reliable and durable. How would you set up and configure a perfect truck with crane ?, to make it attractive as a crane and transport and rental service. thank you let us know,

This is what I run a Volvo FH 520 (chipped to 600] with a cormach 518000 crane, I have two trailers a 13 meter low loader and a small 8 meter one that gets in tight spaces, I also have a 3 meter deck that fits on just the truck

I find it does most jobs👍 Mine is a single drive axle with a rear lift so with the back axle lifted it makes for a short wheel base plus no tyre scrubbing and a bit lighter than a double drive 6x4

as a tractor it's okay, except that my friend is not familiar with tow trucks a more compact vehicle maximum a four-axle, maybe if things go well there will be a trailer "low trolley than the one to transport excavators, but the idea

basic would be that thank you. which crane mounts the tractor? what capacity and useful outreach, the conformation of the same arm is also excellent.

maybe it appears if we had all this money we would be on holiday in overwhelmed the gulf of squillace for life other than work and lift. if you have other cheaper advice, thanks again for the technical support.

Two questions you need to ask yourself,
. What is the heaviest item you want to carry on the truck?
. What weight do you want to lift and at what radius?

a three-axle truck, a maximum of four depending on the weight of the crane, maximum capacity 15 tons, with an extension of 8-10 meters, with the addition of the jib extension to work at height on construction sites and lift the packs of bricks, the tiles and the timber. other uses, industrial removals, assembly and disassembly, support for road works such as pipe laying, transport of materials to supply and supply construction sites, unload and load other vehicles, earthmoving no, I think it is too heavy due to the crane setup and tends to sink and get bogged down inside the earthworks, perhaps with an adequate low-bed trailer, basket service for work at height, not an exaggerated crane at which point they rent a real crane, a service and support machine for medium-range jobs. what would you suggest?

Lifting and handling heavy and bulky loads requires the use of cranes whose movements are managed with the utmost precision, as the load, given its weight and dimensions, is subject to oscillation.

, the truck mounted crane optimizes work on site, loading and unloading operations and the handling of particular types of goods.

Truck mounted cranes are especially useful in the construction industry, for lifting heavy machinery and materials to the floor. Taking advantage of equipment like this for your company entails various advantages, including being able to carry out sports logistics operations on construction sites where there are no adequate structures for loading and unloading, for example due to lack of space available or for interventions short term. Furthermore, it is possible to carry out the interventions with precision and effectiveness, speeding up the work cycle at the same time.
The truck mounted crane is the optimal solution in all those cases where it is necessary to move and lift prefabricated buildings, bricks, machinery, pipes and even loose materials such as waste and timber, in construction sites where there is no similar equipment on a permanent basis.

When you say maximum capacity of 15 ton, how far away do you need to lift if at? If its to load onto the truck, unless your GVW weights are higher than over here, you wont get enough payload with a crane that can lift 15t at a reasonable distance, especially with you wanting a fly jib.

Local outfit to me have a few plant wagons with hiabs. I think the biggest 8 wheeler they have only has 8/9 tonne payload, dunno what it lifts but it's a fair lump of crane on it.

Norton’s loaded a container onto a wagon for me a few years ago - there were 2 cherry pickers inside it and the total weight was approx 11 tonnes. The hiab was a big lump on an 8 wheeler and the driver reckoned his payload was only 6 tonnes…
He could only lift it just far enough outside his outriggers for the trailer to reverse under.

If i remember rightly the 8/9 ton payload was what one of the lads was expecting before it was delivered so i don't know what it ended up.

it is clear that you do not have 15 tons at maximum outreach, as it takes off and lengthens the bravccio decreases the capacity, it goes without saying that a truck without equipment will weigh let's say 10 tons more or less depending on whether it is a two-axle or a three-axle or a four-axle, a more or less powerful crane weighs 4-5 tons, plus the weight of the body and any service equipment. if you have to take a heavy crane it is better to take a sturdy 4-axle, to unload the weight of the crane and distribute the load, even if the truck then becomes heavy, clumsy and slow in maneuvers and cornering, more or less I think I have explained the machinery that you would like to acquire for the rental service, larger and more powerful I exclude it at the point you take a real crane, to do small transports in the area, lift and unload heavy machinery, build small sheds and lift trusses, more than this no otherwise it becomes too expensive as ancillary expenses a truck from a master not from a large transport and assembly company. thanks anyway.
