scrap wood shredder

looking for more help ! has any one seen a timber shredder small enough to be used on site ? seen the big ones in the recycling centres but just too big and expensive me thinks
i gating more and more jobs removing hedging and old timber fencing ect the problem is putting this in skips seems a expensive job even compacting it with the digger you never seem to get a lot in a skip .
i thought about a chipper and spoke to several guys at the show yesterday but chippers seem to only like clean wood from what i am told it wold not like the likes of privet hedging with the roots attached or old fence posts
so much easier back in the day and just have a big bomey help

Timber Wolf do a Hammermill I think that I believe will handle wood with nails....

Nothing illegal about a bonfire for scrub and untreated timber though.

i had hear about the timber wolf north but of £25k new and i haven't seen one secondhand loads of shredders on that utube but all seem to be tiny to shred coke cans or monster to do a hole car

Green mech also produce one the same as timberwolf but a French company 'bugnot' have started importing shredders and I think this is what you would want the bigger models can have the swinging hammers swapped for chipper blades to allow good quality chip and chipping of larger material (the swingings hammers sap power so can only handle smaller material despite the indeed size )

There was a lad I read about somewhere, who went round sites with a little tub grinder behind a tractor, doing all there waste wood etc, and was very successful, will try and find the link.

Im looking at one for site, not much to go wrong with it compared to a chipper, and a chipper you still have the hassle of the chip.

Just wait till you price one...

It's often said in the arb trade that Justin Kingwell is a greedy c*nt...not sure how true that is but I reckon you'd make one a damn sight cheaper. Just need to find the right ceramic tiles, that'll be the expensive bit.

Could probably heath robinson one, vermiculite sheets are not that expensive and its just a steel box at the end of the day.

so does the fan blow or suck?? presumably if it blows it puts a curtain of air above the fire which also accelerates the burn with the spent air from the curtain ??
looks an easy build and as @fred says vermiculite'd do a fair job .... could do with having a look at one of these ... a smaller one'd be handy here ... I burn 99% of all our rubbish, if it's combustible, in me 45 drum

Just blasts a jet of air over the top, slightly angled into fire by the looks

Saw someone on YouTube dig a skip sized rectangular hole and blow the air in a similar fashion to one of those burners. Seemed to work ok once up to temperature. Then bury the ash in the same hole.
would have to search this again as it was a long time ago.
