scrap wood shredder

A tipping caged trailer and waste carriers license? I think Ifor Williams do a 3.6 x6 tipper. I briefly worked at a joinery shop and they compressed their saw dust in to pellets about half the size of a coke can and sold it as fire wood. Would be nice if you could shred the wood, compress it then sell it to people with log burners. Trouble with that is some people are funny about what wood they burn.

I bet he was successful, running round on red and no O license!
Well, you don’t know that, and neither do I, but if he is, well let him crack on, I don’t need to worry about how someone else is running their business.

You don't actually need a O License to shift a tub grinder, as the whole outfit can be viewed as a item as mobile plant and it's not carrying a load. Red diesel is the questionable affair.

Same as screeners and crushers. Technically you can tow the likes of a screener or crusher (provided it has a trailer built into the unit and your not loading it on a low loader.) without O license issues.

There are certain restrictions on the use of those air curtain furnaces.

The manufacturers web site has links to the EA web site which lists them. One of the conditions is that you can only burn 50kg of material per hr.

My guess is that you would also need to let the material dry before you would be able to get it to burn cleanly enough to not get yourself into trouble, even with one of they there magic machines😀

I don’t have an issue with wether he’s on red or not, or has an O license. But seen has you don’t need one, he’s got nothing to worry about:)

A good way to go. Making money out of what was rubbish that would be a cost to get rid of. Yes setup meant initial outlay, but if the figures stack up it is another income stream and is a tick in the green box for recycling was which goes down well with government organisations.

What is required to run a green waste yard is ridiculous definitely can't be done in the corner of a field as they want security fence weigh bridges catchment ponds the lot

A way of circumnavigating this is to produce woodland mulch which can be done in a field however it has to be a lot drier no grass clippings and be completely rubbish free when it is tipped rather than having the litter removed before it leaves site

guy I know - farmer - has been doing it for years .... HUGE set up cost and can't always dispose of the product, but makes his money on the intake charges to local authority .... artic loads at a time  ... peak periods he has a job to cope with the incoming volumes.:(
what he can't 'out' ends up spread on his fields, some of which have probably risen a couple of feet over the years he's been doing it :LOL:
his 'processor' has a 500hp Merc engine running it ... and runs/works bloody hard most of the time

Yes is the short answer it may be that a shredder is the way forward i am not looking for a big set up. if i had had a shredder this could have been left on site and another £80-100 in the sky rocket and and an hour saved waiting around for the tractor and trailer.
i did not get around to contact your guy today but i will and if the shredder will cope with scrap wood as well it may well be the way to go

What man as done, man can do, what never has, maybe
I’ve borrowed a Doppstadt 3060 to destroy the roots that I pulled up on the clearance job that I made the cone splitter for:whistle: it has a V8 merc engine in it, a slow speed single shaft shredder will get a few pictures when I get a chance to use it
(Maybe a bit big for you as weights 26 tonnes)

Guy I was talking about earlier's is a V8 and that name does ring a faint bell in my head .... long time since I was at his place ..... his biggest issues were keeping the rad.s clean and clear .... was a full time job apparently  .... dare say his 'season' will be getting into a fair swing ATM ... especially if the weather ever clears up :(

Dopstadt jenz and Willibald are the main players in this with a few Vermeer and morbark Bering imported from America
The jenz I used to operate had a reversible fan that would run half the time in each direction so blowing out the radiators was only a weekly job
The tumble grinder above is ok as long as you don't put logs or stones through it the high speed shredders will handle small logs and have interchangeable hammers to allow the to produce graded biomass chip from whole trees and the slow spread ones can chew just about anything lumps of metal the lot
