What shade have you gone for?
It seems a shame that even long term users of jcb backhoes are migrating.we have always run one from the early seventies until now and my current 2002 machine is still a superb example of British engineering at its best!I knowofseveral local owner operators to me who have had horrendous reliability and back up issues in recent years, sadly their experience’s have made me very wary of sticking with the marque That has served us extremely well for over forty years.

Been a bit up and down with sales recently. Just the market conditions. Prices are all over place

We had this gem come in the other day. 4CX Wastemaster only ever used for landscaping. I do have a thing for backhoes... That will probably dry up if the pound keeps increasing.

Also not that we really need it just yet but we are going to be able to open our yard right up as the landlord has put in a new road, existing in red and new in yellow. It doesn't look a lot but thats 10 meters x about 102... It really opens up the middle part of the yard which is currently fenced at a angle. I just need to see if the part where the entrance would be is worth fencing a full 30 meters down the side of the building because i dont think we would use it much. maybe for bucket storage

The fencing isn't cheap so no rush +security but great for sometime next year. Really would like to get a good franchise under the belt or start seriously into specialist hire View attachment 10085
Is the 4cx sold Ross, or have you just not had time to get it on the Websit?

When it works is a lovely machine to drive
But it lost drive for 2 days due to s**t wiring
Has had a new radiator as end cap to cores leaking
Had all new servo seat pipes due to s**t rubber and perished quickly
A steel spider pipe on back of pump spring a leak
New cables on side shift because old ones fell off and got kinked when not noticed never had problem with older versions with chains
Quickhitch wiring chopping its self in half at many points along the loom
Quick hitch arm position sensor now bypassed due to going faulty
Quickhitch valve on dipper came lose as rivnuts failed and was flapping around so broke a hydraulic fitting
Generally s**t at starting even with new battery

That is quite a list,it is a shame as they definitely still look great machines, and up until now we have automatically just bought a newer jake every few years and in the knowledge that each upgrade is an improvement on the previous machine and they used to do a lot of hours before we added minis to the fleetall pretty much trouble free.
Even at nineteen years old our current contractor is virtually faultless,I might be talking myself out of changing it yet, possibly adding a 5/6 tonner instead, something to think about for the winter .
Good luck with the new Holland, let us know how it performs.

Additon to the fleet so to speak. Its not going to be doing frontline work hence why i wasnt thinking of going too new but i can find enough to warrant doing it and it still keeps me out of needing to sort transport if i was to go down 6/8t route as alot of my work is different sites daily.
