Curveball if your going to be spesific - reinforcement mesh isn’t a farming activity , it’s construction…. So I’d expect that tractor is on white

What about your missus when she's walking down the road and that right dropside finally finishes fatiguing off with all the wobbling? Come on mate, the hazard is obvious. That trailer should have been in the scrap bin ten years ago. He should have stuck the mesh in the back of the farm pickup and done the job quicker, cheaper and with more comfort.Certainly fewer than we currently have Graham!
In my opinion there is no reason for a farmer to have to spend a load of money buying a new trailer or otherwise getting new tyres/lights etc fitted to something that might get dragged out of the hedge to do 2 miles down a country lane once every 10 years. That tractor is well on top of the job - it would drag that load to the moon and back with no wheels/tyres! If a motorist couldn’t anticipate what that setup is doing at 20 (or maybe 30) mph then they probably shouldn’t be on the road themselves.
No self respecting farmer would use something that good to fill a hole in the hedge - that is only for end of life products. Old bed frames etcI was thinking that it was going to fill a gap in the hedge![]()
This...all well and good using something like that on a farm off road ...big difference when you factor in the rammed full roads we have these days...do what you want on your propertyWhat about your missus when she's walking down the road and that right dropside finally finishes fatiguing off with all the wobbling? It would have been easier and safer to hang the mesh off the muck grab even.
That would depend on if the mesh is being utilised to "construct" a new area of concrete or to "repair" an existing area.... The latter being a fully allowable agricultural activity.Curveball if your going to be spesific - reinforcement mesh isn’t a farming activity , it’s construction…. I have a similar photo from the AWPR..... Tanker with wheel off.... And another of a jacknifed tractor and artic trailer loaded with probably 30T of mesh.Somewhere I've got a picture of a big tanker full of slurry that lost its wheel at busy junction up the road. Narrow road chock full of kids at school time ...luckily it landed on a low wall so it didn't roll...his extremely lucky day.
That's another topic that bears investigation...all major road projects up here run tracs and low loaders/bowsers etc love to see the paperwork.I have a similar photo from the AWPR..... Tanker with wheel off.... And another of a jacknifed tractor and artic trailer loaded with probably 30T of mesh.
Kingskerswell bypass had similar, a Tractor lost its trailer when the hitch failed... Amongst other incidents.
All construction jobs.
They use them within the roadworks though? That's another topic that bears investigation...all major road projects up here run tracs and low loaders/bowsers etc love to see the paperwork.
I know of one lad who was asked to move a 21t kommie ....told to wind his neck in and move it as it was late in the day and no one else could do it
Issue is the roadworks can extend to literally miles on a bypass project. They use them within the roadworks though?
Devil’s advocate here - what actual hazard does the pictured setup pose to anybody? How can the mesh fall out? How is the rusty old trailer with some/no lights going to cause an issue? What would happen if the old perished bald tyres failed?
Nope running about all over. They use them within the roadworks though?

Ruling is 1km load carrying... On red diesel...... Notice the issue. So we now there is actually no legal issue with taking a works truck on white diesel any distance.....
No operators license/ CPC/tacho/ C2/ road tax/ white derv etc etcSite down the road from me for six new houses has just opened up and as I went past yesterday saw them using what looked like a brand new fast track and tipper trailer for the muck away. How can this possibly be cost effective compared to tippers? Unless the farmer is losing all the spoil on his land at no cost to him I guess.
