Today's "Can you just....." involved a bit of maintenance of my trusty old yard Hyster Forklift truck.
This is the H50H model with a nice Perkins engine
........lick of paint.
Post Office Red and Ferguson Grey - no doubt someone will call me a tart:ROFLMAO:
.......this yard now has to be made much bigger
Probably wait for SWMBO obeyed to go out
:ROFLMAO:

YOU TART :p:LOL: .... show us the rest of it then

I need Pam to sod off to Plymouth for a week ;) .... maybe two(y) ..... then the bit of bank I wasn't allowed to attack can disappear :giggle:
needs to be decent weather though to get it into the field

well it sure as hell wasn't red and fergie grey :p:giggle: you tart :ROFLMAO: ..... great trucks .... yours monotrol or sticks on the column? .... had an S40C, H80C and S150C for many years brilliant, bombproof tools.

Tip for getting the front wheels in the air .... tip the mast right back - nice fitting blocks of steel under the boom bases on a solid (concrete ideally) surface and tilt fully forward ... wheels 2" off the deck - no effort ;) and instant (y) ..... as long as they're inflated

My H80C

another great little tool was my 2.5 toyota ... the mast now fits on the 'Drema's hitch
IMG_0328.JPG

and my smallest flt .... 1200kg Clarke ... leccy and when the batteries died, so did it ... not worth a grand for new ones  ... was a very handy little thing though and being a 3 wheeler would turn in its own length ... wish I'd kept the mast :(

Nasty gash there madam
Gonna need some careful fettling with my new welder.....
.....once I've bought a nice new inverter welder ;)
IMG_8037.jpeg

It really is so easy to control. Put many modern trucks to shame :giggle:
IMG_8039.jpeg

Great 4 pot Perkins engine - absolutely bullet proof
This will need TARTING UP :p
IMG_8040.jpeg

Don't you love these little touches :ROFLMAO:
IMG_8044.jpeg

So there you have it. My old yard fork lift. Had it a few years kicking around here.
Weighs in at 4.5 T with a 2.5 T lift.
Handy for baggies, timber, sleepers, pallets of blocks, bricks, tiles and other 'come in handies' ;)
Haven't done much to it yet. Tilt seal done last year.
Sticking brakes sorted a few days ago.
Now gotta sneak in a quick re-spray to TART it up a bit :p

Get yourself an inverter MIG and you'll be able to make that gash disappear.

R-tech. machines have been good for me.
Yep - planning to upgrade my old welders very soon
Had a look at R-Tech stuff which certainly seem excellent quality (y)
Only a small player so my budget is gonna be up to about £200 odd
This one seems OK according to the reviews on Amazon
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product...4d5-a0de44c50a7e&pf_rd_r=H9C5TFC0MWSNKZ2NKTBB
Not sure I can procrastinate too long before my next 'must do' repair job comes along :ROFLMAO:

good old girls (y) .... bomb proof build quality  ... tha's a monotrol, on the pedal .... switches can be a PITA in 'em, but a very quick system .... what's the second box of trickery on the left of the column ... two speeds?
as Doob says ... MIG'll make the gash disappear ..... if you contemplate removing the bonnet to do it .... watch the bloody lift springs on the hinges ... they take no prisoners and are vicious
if you into buying a new inverter MIG ...... I bought one of these after promising meself one for 18 months ... should've bought it 18 months earlier  .... lovely set (y)

If you phone and order directly ask them nicely and they might throw a few freebies in
A friend got some torch tips with there might f.o.c and I got longer leads with my inverter f.o.c when I asked how much it would be to upgrad as the originals are to short

bloody cheap, but Chinese BTLs .... according to their spec it needs a 24A supply  ..... think I'd spend the extra and go for this .....
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0797ZKPLT/ref=psdc_1939431031_t1_B0797XW3GT
or blow the budget and buy an Esab Buddy
https://www.amazon.co.uk/ESAB-Buddy...TF8&qid=1550861480&sr=1-3&keywords=esab+buddy
better duty cycles, lower supply current (16A) and it's ESAB :)

I fancy getting myself one of those Lincoln powertec 271 machines there was a secondhand came up locally but I missed out on her.
transformer/rectifier set though Mike  ...... looks identical to the Thermal Arc 250s I used to sell ten years ago .... couldn't get enough of 'em as they were the best thing available on single phase, at the time and weren't dear for what they were .... sold quite a few of 'em around here ;)

The Monotrol system pedal switches are disconnected somewhere in the distance past.
They have been replaced by the very nice little lever on the left of the steering column. Well spotted :geek:
Like many modern fork lifts and telehandlers - forward to go forward and back to go back. Middle is neutral.
The auto transmission has two speeds. It get quite fast and scary when you go up my drive or pop round to a neighbours property:ROFLMAO:
You get very used to it and I love the old girl. Bought from a friend when it was too smoky in his Land Rover parts warehouse.
As part of the deal, I had to transport his new electric one to his warehouse :ROFLMAO:

as Doob says ... MIG'll make the gash disappear ..... if you contemplate removing the bonnet to do it .... watch the bloody lift springs on the hinges ... they take no prisoners and are vicious

I'll be careful. Have an old Sealey MIG with Y bottle of Argon gas so may give it a go ;)

Now there's an offer you can't refuse - will definitely come and play with yer stuff when over your way from sunny Essex :p

Gearbox/Drive axle is different. But engine is identical, engine bay layout also looks spot on the same, counterweight and entire chassis isn't a million miles out. Wonder if there was abit of badge engineering going on?

So when I refurb it may see if it’s an easy fix. Have even go a full workshop manual for the old girl
Talking about which I can hear SWMBO asking when I’m gonna refit the kitchen
