The K series engine is a brilliant light weight unit. Used in many things including Rover/ MG, Freelanders and Caterhams. Very tuneable and the head gasket issue they got such bad press over was also solved with better bolts and what became known as the "landrover head gasket".
Nice little cars those TF's and one that will appreciate in years to come as they get rarer.

Just a shame the rest of the cars built around them were generally utterly shite, not our finest hour.

Reassuring about the K series engine. This one seems to be sound with the later mods to prevent HGF.
And we agree that it should appreciate as a future modern classic
It’s certainly fun to drive and makes me and Sharon, who are both mid 60s feel young
So when not messing around with plant I’ll be messing around with cars

Yep it’s such a shame that the Rover group couldn’t be saved
Back in the day I had many great Rover cars.
The best was a P6 Rover 2000TC

ditto .... P6 was a lovely motor, and they did make some 'nice' motors for the day ....... but it'll always be the SD1 for me, with the Princess a decent second .. real comfy, roomy bus ....... Old man always said to me "never buy a Jag .... will spoil you for anything else" .. he was right ... my XJ6-4.2 took some replacing .. XR4x4i did the trick though ... grin factor 11

Been a few weeks.......

"Can you just dig me a soakaway and shed base" said Mick, my nephews partners fella

Dug down to depth ready for his 'hardcore' before the concrete slab. WTF do people mess about with random hardcore

Usual happened with the step-son on a barrow with soft little hands - he dropped the first loads when it twitched against a stone
By no. 50 he had got the hang of it

All the crappy subsoil spread alongside the farmers field and beside the new build next door.
Nicely topped of with good top soil, graded and tracked in before it started to piss with rain

Then a bit more fettling on Sharon's MG TF.....

Decided to replace the old down pipe and oxygen (Lambda) sensors whilst down there. The old flexible was like jelly and broke the I took it off

.......and a new Catalytic Converter while down there...

Old heat shield fettled and given some tish before bolting the new stainless exhaust in place.
Job jobbed - awesome

Then we put the Ifor to work with the boys a few Sunday's ago......

.....gave them a cup of tea and a biscuit for all the hard work - it was tight getting it out of the back passage

In place under our Pergola......

No such thing as a bargain - more fettling required......

The fix - O ring selection sorted it out with some lube

SWMBO obeyed approved of the 'new' hot tub. We now use it most evenings and put the world to rights

I was there as house is/was going up for sale and hot tub had been sold off
Had to dig out the known mine working near property but it runs under the property so filled it back in to make safe and now has to be flattened to repair ground and new house/houses built

Hot tub started as one of these

Fitted some air jets

Added some insulation and clad

Built a pump house and plumbed up with hot tub pipe work and filter using a lazy spa blower/heater/pump unit to run it

So rocked up with the Neuson on my tipping trailer and got digging out the crappy soil to about 400mm deep......

....and tipped about 30T of the crap about 120m up his lane onto a patch of rough (to be moved later)

So when Charlotte arrived home from school she was blown away and even had a go loading

During the lockdown, Charlotte has taken to growing vegetables in the garden. Her old plot is behind that shed and not doing very well.
Think I'll be back soon to level and spread the 30T of top soil and other 'can you just' stuff

I recognise the heater/pump unit. We bought one of those crappy Bestway blow up tubs 4 years ago. Only £400 from Homebase. I was always repairing it. Few leaks which patched up well. Then rebuilt the unit at least twice. Over winter mice nested in the thing so it was outed
BUT the main thing is that it convinced Sharon that she did actually like a hot tub after all.
She loves the 'new' one which I picked up from my friends son after he lost interest

First time guys but do a lot of drainage laying so used that experience also am accustom to installing extras on new cars when I worked at a dealer garage so taking a drill to some ones new car to fit extras and do a tidy job of it ment you had to plunge in at the deep end

Glad that someone is paying attention yep - each one was at least a ton overweight
BUT I was only going 120m up the private drive to tip.
Made the old 12v hydraulic pack work hard and showed up a few snags
Leak from a swagged end of hydraulic hose - will order a new one next week.
Then the 12v 'new' battery went flat on the very last tip. - no charging circuit from the 13pin. So again will have to get that sorted

Yep and to think that when I drive bulkers it just about one load
In this case it was 10 x 3T. BUT it is doable on domestic premises and the job pays well

My ranger has a factory fitted towbar with a 13 pin socket, that doesn't a 12v feed in it
