For some reason we all seem to do our own firewood on this Forum
Here's my latest effort to add to my huge stack......
IMG_9214.jpeg

Been watching this Silver Birch struggle and die over the last few years :(
Has a slight lean towards neighbours fence. So Mr. Neuson stabilised it whilst I put in the hinge cut....

IMG_9215.jpeg

Then Mr. Hyster gave it a tug after the 029 had done it's stuff.
The more observant will notice that Mr. Neuson is now protecting the active bee hive 🐝
Sharon had 4 hives at this location until recent colony collapses left us with only one

IMG_9216.jpeg

Having pulled over the tree without smashing the green house or beehive, I got the FLT stuck on the frozen lawn
So, "Sharon, can you just give me a tug with the dumper please."
R "You'll have to show me what to do, you know I haven't driven it before."
She quickly learned - all hand controls on the Terex you know. Then she took it for a spin around the garden/yard/field

IMG_9219.jpeg

Brushwood taken to bonfire site, leaving a skip full of these beauties.

IMG_9218.jpeg

Bit of motivation to get it all done before it got dark

IMG_9220.jpeg

Splitter makes short work whilst the wood is still moist.
Straight into the baggie on the FLT. Probably go mouldy. Will give it an airing on a sunny day.

You can never have enough logs for yer wood burner 🤠

Good job. Also good to hear of an ex-traffic getting a tug.

I suppose some of the mucky minded on here will read that differently.🥴

Another week has ticked by......
IMG_9312.jpeg

Mark -"Dave our new barns are flooding, can you just clean out the ditches"

IMG_9313.jpeg

Rocked up last week on a 'dry' day and sorted it out, whilst listening to stuff on the Bose

IMG_9314.jpeg

Once I hit the water got myself a nice level going. Not a straight as I would like due to all the tree roots.
But at least being farmland, I could spend the crap on the Bru :poop:

So about 150m sorted for now.
BUT I'll be back - "Mark let me know when you've fixed yer flail and bashed down the rest of the hedge. Then I'll come back and do the rest" :ROFLMAO:

Then spent a few days with Ryan at my place doing stuff.....

IMG_9319.jpeg

He actually loves the hands on stuff. We have servicing on my list for my 4 machines.
Seen here putting some nice new oil in the Hyster :giggle:

Took delivery of a load of new filters and kits from Rico Europe a few days beforehand.
In the case of the Hyster H50H the Air Filter supplied by them was wrong - far too big.
Original one was a Baldwin PA1684 and the Rico equivalent in the kit was far too big - bugger!
So, I phoned Rico during the tea break.
No problem, we have a PA1684 and will send it out FOC straight away.
It arrived the very next day on the DPD Van
"Here you go Ryan, a present for you"
R - "Thanks grandad, it's like Christmas"
He had it fitted in the blink of an eye.
Mind you the 2 x fuel filters were complete buggers.
O rings and seals that you can't see without a mirror.
Then you need 3 hands to hold the glass bowl and seals onto the filter whilst screwing the retaining screw in the top
Then it was a bugger to bleed ALL the air out of the injection pump.
Ryan - "Grandad, the Hyster manual says that you have to undo bleed screw A and B. Then once all air is removed, do screw C before checking at the injectors."
I had been showing Ryan the service procedure using the big thick Hyster manual.
But in true style was winging it and not reading the manual
So we followed the procedure and it fired up no problem.
We both learnt a lot that day. And not forgetting that being made 'over the pond', the Hyster uses all imperial nuts and bolts. 🤓

One down, three more to go......

So Happy New Year guys 🤪
When do you stop saying that......

We have two grown up daughters, both second time round with 6 children between them - that's 6 grandchildren for us 🥰

istockphoto-495559422-612x612.jpg

IMG_9264.jpeg

Grandchildren 'helping' Sharon get served up. Note the brace on her right arm. She fell over in the ice the week beforehand whilst out walking with her sister along the River Stour AONB - Dedham to Flatford and back. Constable Country, just up the road from here 😎

Then after lunch we all adjourned to the Barn for Darts

Nicola gets her double one

IMG_6562.jpeg

They love darts.....

But the most popular was burning the Xmas Wrappings and boxes in true Druid Style @V8Druid 😈

Not on this model. Bonnet has to come off soon. Top hose connector pipe into header tank is leaking. So it will be radiator out and blowtorch and solder time 🤠
Here’s the manual that us old guys never read 🤣

So last week I was back to finish the ditching behind the new build barns that I started a few week before. This was after they flooded again after a downpour.
And customer hadn’t got his flail cutter fixed to finish the overgrown hedge. So he called local farmer boy to do a proper job 🙄
“Told you so but what do I know”

Hedge cut back ready for me to start 😝

Job jobbed for now 😎

“I’ll have you back once I’ve done the rest of the hedge” 🤣
