Been another really busy few weeks.........
......this week I completed a big (for me) dig out on a Caravan Club CL.
Already his Garden House CL has been awarded new CL of the Year

Basically my friend has a 3 acre garden and last year he opened up the CL with just simple grass pitches
"Dave, can you just dig out an access road and 3 hardstandings for me" :p

IMG_9087.jpeg

So rocked up with the Neuson and Terex and just started digging where Martin had marked out with the blue cord.
That's Martin in the dumper - he's very practical and a handy guy ;)

IMG_9093.jpeg

As the 'road' progress simply dug out the 'hardstandings'
Very basic 6" dig including turf ready for sub base materials and gravel top dressing

IMG_9118.jpeg

Martin got in at least 3 wagons of crushed for the bottom 3" or so....

IMG_9117.jpeg

So as we progress, Neuson spread the crushed, the boys fettled it with my big rakes and a Martin gave it a basic wack....

IMG_9102.jpeg

By day 2 it got very busy so Ryan was on site as chief dumper and big rake operator
All the spoil had to go through the gate to the end field for sorting out later....

IMG_9109.jpeg

Trouble is that we had loads of fcuking rain to make mud pies :(
Chucked two loads of crushed in the gateway which soon disappeared.....

IMG_9105.jpeg

Spoil tipped in low spots and in areas to make 'artistic features' :p

IMG_9104.jpeg

"Granddad, I don't have to steer once it's in the ruts!!"

IMG_9149.jpeg

This is the stuff that I like. We had 4 wagons of grey Type 1 from Ipswich. Came in on the boat from Norway

Martin hired a very nice 1200 roller from Toddy Tool Hire
When Steve Toddy delivered it we got talking about machines - what a great bloke.
Gonna visit his teapot at the workshops soon :)

Berm by the Blackthorn hedge and raised area.....

IMG_9162.jpeg

.....which will be 're-wilded' with a seating area in a "Wide Snug"

IMG_9160.jpeg

Job jobbed for me. Martin will go round the edges with his Wacker plate.
Just look at those Skys - we was lucky with the weather this week.
But it was so cold 🥶 that I had to use the heated seat cover on the Neuson.
So good, I even had to turn it down to low setting 🤗

Now he needs to source some bulk grey granite chippings at a reasonable rate - suggestions for the Ipswich area?

gonna need a replacement soon
Yep normally change mine once a year. Old one gets folded up and weighed in with the scrap. This burn is for conifer ctuttings - get it hot enough and it all goe up cleanly 🤪
Have a nice stock of empty clean barrels used for red (now empty) and kerosene 😎
Mine you if my plan for a nice diesel great or goes through then I’ll get another delivery of red. You’ll know that electricity generation is an authorised use of rebated fuel 🥸

I've got a good stock of old tyres off forklifts, lorry's and tractors I've heard burns well in a bonfire, I've never tried it obviously 🙄
Yes and it’s a good way to remove a tyre from old steel rims before weighing them in - so I have heard 😚
I’ve still got a wheel and tyre from a Ford D series kicking around my yard that needs ‘processing’ 🤣
