No valve cap or a bit of moisture between a dodgy cap and valve used to be entertaining on a frosty morning. The frozen water would lift the valve enough to let the tyre down but have melted by the time the poor old tyre fitter was called out 😔

Yep but not in this case, always careful with my tyres and valves etc. My current theory is that it may have been a random poor seal on the bead. Do my own tyres using my brother's machines. So if it reoccurs we will do a fully immersive inspection 🌊:geek:

And as of course as we all know the valve cap is the primary seal not the valve 😊
I'd heard the same, but never read it anywhere.
A quick search on wiki says cheap caps do very little other than keeping the stem clean, but caps with a rubber seal "prevent air from leaking from a faulty valve core".
It then goes on to say the (red & blue) caps used in A/C systems are the primery seal with the Schrader valve "only being used for service access".

So I guess whether the cap is the primary or secondary seal depends on the condition of the valve core.

Now at the back of our vast estate at World HQ Central a neighbour has the field with a horse called Arty.
IMG_2826.jpeg

The old barbed wire fence has rotten posts and is overgrown with brambles etc. The only thing keeping it up.
It's our boundary, but about 30 years ago owner of said field erected the barbed wire fence and I put chicken wire on my side.
New owners of the field and Arty have agreed to replace with a horsey post and rail fence. And I have agreed to goes halves and do the work :)
IMG_8138.jpeg

This old fence/hedge is just under 50m long
IMG_8166.jpeg

So fired up the 1503 and got cracking making a blank canvas...
IMG_8169.jpeg

Did it in two stages. Phase 1 to beside the old mobile where the boundary kinks.
IMG_8184.jpeg

Borrowed by brothers hole auger. Only did the soft stuff at the top then it was hand digging. Then it seized up after only 6 holes
IMG_8185.jpeg

Trimmed back all the overhanding oak branches using my baby chainsaw 😎
IMG_8196.jpeg

Hand tools are best for jobs like this. The ground was 'rock hard' and the holes took hours to dig :p
Part 2 shortly......

Fence Phase 1 Part 2
IMG_8198.jpeg

Getting there with loads of that Post Crete stuff...
IMG_8201.jpeg

Then Jack joined me at the weekend to get it wrapped up. I had the nail gun and Jack 'finished then off' with his favourite tool ;)
IMG_8202.jpeg

We put some stock wire behind the rails and then splashed some creocote all over the timbers
IMG_8204.jpeg

Phase 2 (to the left) will be done over the next week or so...
Well that's Phase 1 done - another job jobbed 😊

Lovely job👍👍
Can't beat doing a fence when you've been able to plough through and leave a level, clear strip to work on with a digger. I spent a whole day doing that with my 2.5tonner on my big fence job back in July. So satisfying 😆 🤣

Yep exactly that, over the years I have done loads of 'blank canvas' jobs for fencers and builders to get their string line in
Started this morning on Phase 2

IMG_8217.jpeg

A few hand tools to assist the mini.....
IMG_8218.jpeg

And my big rake getting stuck in before I spend an hour or so plucking and cutting out 4 strands of barbed wire :p

shame about the post borer - that Lumag one I bought a while back was awesome at making post holes :giggle:
can't get over how dry your ground looks
Nice job on the bramble demolition (y)

That post hole borer is a Titan and I’ll do a tear down when I get time to find out why it has seized. Hopefully something simple 🧐
Yep that rake is awesome for brambles. Although I wish I’d bought a rake bucket now making it easier to riddle stuff 🙄
So this afternoon….

… I got the ‘blank canvas’ done ready for the new fence between other jobs this week 😎

ain't they just - just eyeballed them and sound like a good buy at 100 quid
just bought a 20" 62cc Hyundai petrol saw - 3 yr warranty - 129 quid ... been pleased with the other stuff I've had from them - started first pull once I'd put it together ... PO-ed with the constant battle to keep my Stihls running
