Riddle buckets for u17-3a

i think my spacings are 75mm - not sure thats centers or gaps (will measure it) I went with recommendations but if ordering again would prob go larger as its nearly always clogged, depends on design also as the way mine is braced effectively reduces those gaps for quite a distance and no doubt adds to the clogging problem.

BMC

BMC have been super responsive and offered to build a 36" that is strong enough for 2.6t but with a pin set up to suit both machines. Think that makes most sense.

choice seems to be 50mm versus 75mm. 75mm should catch anything from brick size upwards which is what I would want. 50mm would clog for what I am doing.

50mm will be pain in the arse unless in the heat of summer!

75mm does most things to a reasonable degree. I suppose it depends on your soil type too. If I want a finer finish then going over it manually with a stone rake doesn't take long after the 75mm has been over it first- but can also use it for light riddling tasks which Im not sure a 50mm will be ideal for.

With regard BMC Vs digits. I love BMC but just check what they're making their rakes out of. I think all the Digits ones are hardox. I have one of their older ones which isn't hardox though haven't managed to bend it yet.

We normally go 70mm, can build it to what ever size you want

Rake and riddle bucket aren't really the same thing though, on the 1.7t I have a digbits riddle bucket with various screens that does o.k and a separate rake with wide spacings that doesnt get blocked, hybrid buckets prob dont do either right well - thats why my hybrid is always blocked hecause it get used for grubbing out

Riddle Rake is what I am referring to. Not a riddle bucket.

I am still undecided on whether to go 36" or 48". I think 75mm spacings will work better on fiddling through waste hardcore. If I ever want to use on E10 I think 48" will be too much to do anything with other than just raking.

Whats folks thoughts on BMC versus Digbits? Prices seem comparable.

Weights on 48" seem to about 130kg and 36" only about half of that... Unless I am getting my facts wrong

75mm spacings, and then just cut, bend and cable tie a piece of 50mm weldmesh into the back of the bucket when you want to screen smaller.

£485 plus £60 pallet . Plus vat

It’s lower in profile that a normal 2.5T bucket so you won’t get as much material in it , but for sorting through concrete waste / hardcore it’s more of a raking action than riddling action .

Compromise of having it usable on both machines . Probably the perfect size for a mid sized mini.

My E19 manages OK with the riddle bcket from the E27 but it's not pleasant to use.

Can't go wrong with BMC although my riddle bucket I bought off them 4 years ago needs welding up as headstock is pulling off the shell of the bucket and the sheet of metal has cracked apart but 4 years of some pretty rough work I don't think that's too bad
