Tis cheap for a ripper but I've no complaints about Harfords buckets for the cost of them so would think their ripper be ok. Realistically how strong do they have to be for a 1.5 tonner

I have never used a ripper. But if it is a case of dragging the tine through the ground its not going to put much pressure on the digger.
When I've removed roots with say a 9"" toothed bucket i dig round it and use the bucket as a lever working under it.
Leveraging under something realy does put some pressure on

Pretty strong, it’s all the breakout force concentrated in one point. My Strickland ripper was £450 four year’s ago so a big saving. If the quality is as good as the prolock then go for it, a ripper is a tool you will never regret buying.

That's the only thing i find sometimes let's a ripper down its difficult to get leverage as they are so narrow they just bury themselves. For pulling stumps out they are good as sometimes you can pull a stump apart. Foot bucket is bad to beat for leverage thoughI have never used a ripper. Yeah I've put stuff behind under the bucket when levering so it doesn't sink

Just checked the original email. Was £400. Mini digger rippers are all 350 - 400 on eBay too.
Anyway, it’s made me that 400 twenty times over I reckon.

they are kin expensive mind. I first priced one for an 8 tonner and thought fu*k that but when you consider the forces they have to take they have to use decent steel which doesn't come cheap. Finally bought one for 8 ton when buying buckets seemed to soften the blow. Not much change out of 1k though
