@DaveDCB are those connectors you posted up for me slip on the 4" pvc side? As in if chopping between 2 bits of clay do i still need to use a slip collar after this? Obviously the flex bands work as a slip on the pvc side

You’ll still need to add in a slip - maybe even a double slip as it will be tight, so probably another 12ā€ of Plastic pipe onto one end of the ā€˜Y’ before the clay again.

Probably Dave I’ve never heard of the called anything other than old clay pipes .
That’s a lot of couplers to carry in the van ! It is the best way to go though if you can have them to hand or you can get them quickly . The band seal couplers are pretty good if you take your time to line them up but you definitely won’t beat a dedicated coupler like that .
I think I will keep a note of the different sizes of clay pipes I come across and see if any are more common . Then I could keep a couple of these on the van .

Picked up this leaflet the other day
Advertising bandseals with built in bushes so will line up with a much wider variety of pipes supposedly. Not tried it but seems a good idea.

I think the 'list' is totally imaginary or would be created by adding 82% to whatever they quote you :ROFLMAO:
Yeah it’s daft , but some merchants are on 60% another I use a lot are 76% and I think Giles gets even more than 82%? So they all take the piss one way or another!!
