If it's anything like the new 50t kobelco costains have on hire on the a30 dualing down here it's not burning a lot sitting around doing nothing for days on endwould scare me to death buying a machine like that just thinking of the amount of work it needs to pay its way, bloody nice though
Cornwall? Had a good look around a kobelco 500 wasn’t impressed with it much. Didnt match up size wise to our cat 345d.If it's anything like the new 50t kobelco costains have on hire on the a30 dualing down here it's not burning a lot sitting around doing nothing for days on end![]()

All our long term employees get given the new machines in this case the d6 went to one of our site managers who’s been with us for 16 years. How much consideration do you put in to who pilot’s it?
I remember working on a mine site in Queensland that had a handful of D11’s working on double shifts and almost all ops were women, apparently they looked after the machine![]()
Are the Views pretty and how do you feel about sarcasm in general?I’m currently trying to recruit some young blood to join our company about 85% of our work force is over 40. The only problem with recruiting young people and giving them a chance is mistakes and accidents can happen and the cost that that entails.
If you move to sunny Scotland and someone offers you a Glasgow sweety just say no. But bear in mind you don't always get a chance to decideAre the Views pretty and how do you feel about sarcasm in general?
One has worked with Scottish people before..... they are slightly tamer than the south welsh lads...... But muckshifts are pretty much the same anywhere..... don't leave your wellies unguarded or there will likely be a present left in them. Check around the exhaust on a machine for boot prints particularly if it has a open cab..... etcIf you move to sunny Scotland and someone offers you a Glasgow sweety just say no. Rory doesn't like Vans or fuel cards..... Ever since I left Tim I've not, partly as I'm a scruffy bastard that utilises my foot well as a dustbin and partly because I like to be responsible for my own s**t....... Would have to stay somewhere on or close to site though and the cuddly toy would not be refused if offeredYour selling yourself short, no van? fuel card ? Travel time? Cuddly toy?![]()
