The pub in the next village took a hit on the chimney last night, bricks on the car park and road this morning.
Got a weathervane on our house, I did wonder if it would attract a bolt of lightning! Thankfully the farm sheds are higher and some pretty big oak trees around, I’d like to think they’d get struck first?

Take pain killers.
I got told off by my quack for not taking drugs when I cracked some ribs (after a bike crash). It hurt when I breathed deeply, so I was only taking shallow breaths - didn't hurt (much), so I thought I didn't need drugs.
Quack advised that shallow breathing causes fluid to accumulate in the lungs which leads to pneumonia.
So I took the drugs.

yep - take it if you need it ...
nurses/quacks used to bollock me for not taking the pain killers as required - used to try and 'ride out' a bad night - and suffered for it --- these days, first indications of an impending 'bad night' and I give it the tramadol/paracetamol cocktail, 'fore it takes a proper hold (and hours to kick in). Chronic pain like broken ribs is a must to anaesthetise (y)

man has it been wild here today ... strongest gusts we've seen in a long time ... have had to 'adjust' the tarp on top of the steel rack on top of me boxes a few times - sod's law
and every time I set foot outside it lashes it down
