bloody wild here ATM ... been like it most of the day --- just got back from Ross and there're bits of tree everywhere -- didn't think there'd be much more to come down after the last few weeks of wind, but some big chunks about

Took these about two hours ago, all more or less south-north. At night if I sit star watching there‘s about twenty flights an hour most nights between sunset and when I get bored and go to bed, almost all of them south to north.

hell's teeth Bri, I thought our airspace was bad over us .. that's insanity ... we get circa 20-25% N-S / S-N, the rest are all E-W/W-E ... when I'm out in the dark I'd say it's maybe 8-10 an hour -- you get some traffic over you :oops:

~ almost all of them south to north.
the flight paths are semi-fixed. That is, the pilots fly between pre-defined way points along their route. This makes navigation easier and helps to keep aircraft from banging into each other.
If you are sitting under the Sth-Nth flight path, someone else is under the Nth-Sth path.

This shot is at 23:00, so not a busy time, but it gives you some idea how many aircraft are in the air.

Just did a count tonight, only 1 in 10 minutes. Another night it’ll be a lot busier. Also see a lot of satellites, generally west-ish to east-ish.

we've had everything here this morning ...
wall to wall blue sky, followed by rain, snow, sleet, hail, all accompanied by high winds, blowing an absolute hoolie in the space of a couple of hours ..
only thing missing has been dense fog ...
unbelievable weather and real cold with it   🤬
WTF is wrong with our weather of late ?
