Nope! Decided to let everything dry out before attempting any sort of tidy up - will have another go on Monday if it stays as suggested over the weekend. It was all still saturated this morning, desperate to cave in from all directions.Did you get the concrete in Dan
I’m not keen on your ‘after the event’ observations, and am now even less enamoured with your ‘before it happens’ advice!Weather says good for next week
*dig footings at your own risk![]()
Also I’ve done much much worse….. footings are my thing and I love doing them.. but digging and pouring in the last week of December, hammering it down, running sand .. constant cave ins, digging it back out as the concrete chased me down the trench.. not a fun day! Full load of concrete was nearly getting dumped on the crusher pileI’m not keen on your ‘after the event’ observations, and am now even less enamoured with your ‘before it happens’ advice!
It’s in (thank god!). Lovely day here today, has been nice since the day the rain filled my trenches but might rain tomorrow so I’m glad to get this in!Did you get the concrete in Dan

just looked - you ain't kidding - 21mm of rain starting in about half an hour -- and it looks like it here too ... been a glorious day 'til about 6 when it clouded over ..... not a cloud in a beautiful azure sky at 07.00 this morninglook out tomorrow. batten down the hatches.
that must've turned into a swampWell it was nice while it lasted..
Another 2 hours and I'd have had this knocked off and all cleaned up.
Instead I've still got raking to do, pressure washing to do and when I was loading the boards I had brown water running down my arm![]()
