10k is a days work for a planting gang with spades tbh.

A gang of four, each man would be planting, guarding and caning once every 11.52 seconds solidly for 8 hours....its possible, but very unlikely

If you are spiral guarding make sure the spirals are installed correctly otherwise you can’t spot-spray in the future (they need to shed water to the outside, not act as a funnel).

I'm assuming spiral guards, I didn't now there was a wrong way! I will remember what you say though. On this particular site glyphosate is not allowed.....

Hedge planting is also different to woodland planting, closer spacings and smaller whips make for faster speed from what I've seen.

Planting gangs are usually a fair bit bigger than 4 men. And they don't plant, cane, guard. 2 people plant to one person caning and guarding. Or plant for a few hours, guard and cane for a bit.
I had a very brief go but at 6ft 4 I didn't find it enjoyable
