Last day for a while . Day job is calling. Had to fetch the new work van back from auto electricians and drop at sign writers.. then back over to the project.
Fished my drowned sump back out of a sticky clay out. Need to drill a lot of holes in it and fabricate the collars on.
Got another 12m of French drain laid and covered with drainage stone using grab bucket. Got a puncture on front tyre of tractor at 5 pm on an Easter weekend FFS
Tidied up a few pallets.
Seem to have lost my post driving cup for the pecker between today and yesterday. Very limited options for its loss.
1. I’ve put it somewhere stupid and wiped from memory.
2. I’ve accidentally buried it.
3. Some little pikey climbed over the road hedge had a wander around last night and lifted it .. which seems unlikely.
Despite setbacks had a good afternoon.

nope

whip it off and patch the tube ;)(y)
I have a my LL garage and tyre place next door. They did it for me , but tube split around valve. Tyre place 5 mins away had a tube in stock (£30 though) So got it all sorted pretty quick and tractor back up and working Tuesday late morning.

Missed this one (6m x 600mm) as I cant get there fast enough which is a shame. Deal at £100. Looking online and it does fetch silly money, plenty asking over £400 a length. I can buy new from local JDP for £379+vat.

Yeah those big ones get expensive quick. I installed a 900m one for a culvert a while back and think it was around a grand for 6meters

Got a present for the old saw - new bar and chain. Promptly hit a stone so had to sharpen it again.
Had a good burn up of the old apple trees from dad’s orchard.
Hooked up the tipper and got it emptied.
Drilled a hole and found a new storage solution for auger.
Watered the baby trees.600l/300 trees equating to about 2L per tree. Quite impressed myself with impromptu set up.

Back this afternoon. Levelled out a section to try and get an idea of how the stoned yard needs setting out. Made up the sump and finally got that dropped in. Hole was 8ft deep in the end but I was reasonably confident that the dry clay wasn’t going to kill me (it didn’t).

Got an afternoon of peace and quiet. Finally opened up the old gateway/road access and got it stones up very roughly with about 9t of the stuff I ripped out for my French drain the other day. Will need compacting down then dressing off with some planings or 803. Promptly locked it back up and put some pallets of blocks on the inside to keep the local T-Leaves out.
Got the petrol washer out and cleaned the screener and digger off before home time.
I should have spent an extra hour rattling the stone through the screener to clean the dust out, but ran out of time.
