Update ...struggling to get the patriots in right Size atm😏.
But local guy who I normally use does BFG and GT was saying there's a new RT pattern coming out this autumn somewhere between the AT and MT reckons it will be very popular.
He's also involved in the Grenadier with local dealer so I'll get some good real world working truck feedback.

do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
how hard can it be to 'copy' a piece of cult junk and then improve on it as you go ....... WTF is taking them so ****ing long to get it out there :rolleyes: .... if it was just a straight copy it'd sell

Because it's not just a copy tbf. Helluva lot to sort and I still actually think fair play how much theyve achieved in what's got to be one of the most shite times to try and produce vehicles...imo

no it's an improved copy .... if you parked the equivalent LR beside that, from a distance or at a glance it'd look pretty much the same

they've no competition now, have they and look what the original 'cult junk' is making :oops::oops::oops: ..... they could sell straight copies with little effort .. the demand is so great ... 'cos the originals're no longer being produced

I've got a fairly new set of General Grabbers AT3 on the Navara. Very pleased with them. Little bit firmer ride than the original Continentals. No noticeable increase in noise and fuel consumption. Adequate grip for occasional off road towing trailers :giggle:
My previous two vehicles were, Disco 2, Disco 3 manual and Disco 3 auto HSE. All these were fitted with General Grabbers as a 'business expense' and gave great service. My local dealer and friend is always pleased to get them in at a good price :cool:

Looking for suggestions
Hoping for a 265/65r18 to make the pickup sit up a wee bit. Seems to be a bad size though ran falken MT on the last pickup can’t get them in this size though!
Bfg all terrain is kinda strong money and a bit s**t in gutter but maybe there the most sensible options? Full blown MT seems a bit OTT but getting stuck is annoying

BFG last for 50k and are bombproof but pricey.
Grabbers better on road manners in some conditions but are a great tyre but softer and ....a LOT cheaper
That's My experience.
Personally I run grabbers on "posh" car and BFGs for pickup.
Our roads are s**t I'd never run a road tyre ever again. Saved my bacon so many times....and a big tyre small wheel on her car saves a world of pain 🤣

I have always run BFG AT on Camper and 4x4. Never had issues till one lot (2017 tyres) started falling apart on the side wall. We did a post mortem on one and its not structural - just looks s**t. Still running a couple of them on back of camper (basically trailer tyres as its FWD) but need to change now as just failed MOT.
  • Nearside Rear Tyre has a tear, caused by separation or partial failure of its structure (5.2.3 (d) (ii))
  • Offside Rear Tyre has a tear, caused by separation or partial failure of its structure (5.2.3 (d) (ii))
  • Nearside Rear Valve stem seriously damaged (5.2.3 (j))
£175+vat each :-(

The best pickup tyres I have ever had where Yokohama geolander a/t
Not as good off-road as others but the road manners where brilliant and in wet cold icy weather they beat bf Goodrich or grabbers hands down. They where also slightly cheaper but think they have crept up now
