You must really have upset your local tak dealer at that price.
They don't have a clue who I am so I can't have upset them. Presumably they're trying it on, hence me asking Neil what he paid.

That's the thing aswell, I didn't want to fully take the plunge and invest into a tool that I would possibly have to sell if my business wasn't doing so well, we had a successful year last year and got a good job on this year so the new machine is easily justified now.
A mini digger is always justified- it's the cheapest man on the job! You'll wonder how you managed without the convenience of your own machine (y)

Essentially you can't have both dig depth and loading height as I see it. I do like to take the Q/H off mine for long stints of loading a track dumper, it makes it considerably less numb. Its not just the lift height, the Q/H adds a big old arc for uncurling the bucket, meaniung that your position has to be bob on. Much easier direct mounted.
Sounds more like crap arm geometry to me tbh. It's why I'm keeping my tb108 for the occasions i need a micro. I think takeuchi have put too big an arm on their micro and the bobcat is let down in its arm. It's one of those where you would have to try them all and buy whichever suits you're job

Nice machine! They don't sell the 219 over here anymore though.

Doobin don't like Taks from what I can tell😉 His opinion and experience with them compared to other brand machines is the opposite of mine.

What did you pay? I've just been quoted £20,400 for a canopy TB219!!! And that's on a foot pedal aux- stone age technology.

Kubota are £19,200 for a canopy KX019-4, with one proportional aux as standard- BUT no option to add a second.

Bobcat are £16,750 for a basic spec canopy E19, and £17,700 for an E19 canopy with twin proportional roller aux. Plus 5 years 0% finance. ANd a three year warranty. Looks like I'll end up with three Bobcats. It's not just the price, it's the ability to get things like twin aux from the factory. Takeuchi said they could do it, but I didnt ask the cost as the base price was already 25% more. Kubota said they just couldn't do a secont proportional aux, not enough room.

I had a few quotes of various machines from various suppliers, I had always wanted a Takeuchi but they were always out of budget and the most expensive, the saying goes that you get what you pay for I suppose.
The Bobcat E20 was a contender for a short while but I hired one around a year ago and can just remember it being quite frustrating to operate, the geometry of the machine was poor.
It ended up between a Yanmar SV18 and the Takeuchi Tb219, the Yanmar was £17500 + Vat (very good machine) and the TB219 was £20000 + Vat, the TB219 just seemed to offer more in my opinion and was more suited to my needs, also that was with a manual quick hitch.
Iv been in the TB219 all day today and just say that it is a pleasure to operate, the offset boom is also on a foot pedal just like the auxiliary, which personally I like.

I would highly recommend having a go in a TB219 before ruling it out over cost, just remember that the cheapest isn't always best.

Had the 219 in full swing today, got a half ton track dumper that I was loading, 2 heaped scoops of the grading bucket filled the dumper, I’m thinking that each heaped scoop must be close to 250kg, the machine was handling it no problems even at full reach, managed to move a lot of soil compared to my old E18B.
Also took delivery of the telehandler today, 5 mins and a hose burst lol 😂

I remember my grandfather used to paint on burst oil to his equipment to hold back the corrosion, when I see that telehandler it looks like a good cote of oil is needed to halt the metal cancer 🙄

i found the kubota was more 'modern' than the taki when I was looking a 2 years ago. Aux controls built in on sticks ready for titly that sort of thing. Most of the local hire places run kubota as well.

They are all decent machines I think its trying to spec it for not what you need now but what you dont yet know you need in a years time!

I appreciate a decent machine- spent a lot of time on TB175s and TB290s. The TB216 is a dog to me, probably in the same way that the Bobcat E17 is also rumoured to be a dog. The TB219 looks much more of a machine.

I want the top spec for any machine I buy, as Fred alludes to above. Bobcat are making it damn easy for me to get that, at a price less than others. If Takeuchi were doing that rather than try pull the wool over my eyes and get a few extra k out of me, I'd do that. But even if the base canopy is 18k, then the proportional services have got to be £600 each, so thats 19.2k, plus interest at say 2.5% over five years (£2250 interest on 18k principle). So the Tak would cost me £21450 over five years. The bobcat will cost me £17900. That's £3500 extra. Not a lot in the scheme of things but I have two Bobcats already, they're pretty good machines and it would be easy to get another with the spec I need.

To make you all feel better though, I'll call the Tak dealer again today, tell him I know he's full of s**t (in the nicest possible way) and get a revised price with twin auxillaries. :ROFLMAO: (y)

Must admit I was very impressed with the e20 bobcat with all its twin rollers as a option and in general a nice thought out machine comes very very close to the cat 302 in my eyes ( hopefully doobin misses my comment here 🤣 ) I’m sure I’ve seen a kx019 or whatever the Kubota is with twin lines somewhere and your right about the Takeuchi charge for twin lines that cost me a penny or two

Kubota told me it simply wasn’t possible.

Hadn’t considered cat- the new minis are supposed to be pretty good. I’ll call them later.

Where are you based ? Finning were useless to deal with I ended up using reeds plant sales . I may have been dreaming about the Kubota twin lines

Burst hose....must have hurt£££ if it needed Pirtek!!
Cost £100 to get the hose changed, I think the hose would have probably cost £30 if I were to do it myself but it would also take me around 3-4 hours taking it off, driving there and back to get the hose made up then fitting the new one, plus im currently having fun playing in the 219  not got time for laying under machines getting covered in hydraulic oil! Either that or im starting to get lazy lol

You have got a fair argument, everyone is in a different situation, for me its been a Takeuchi that iv wanted for a few years now all in that time iv hired Kubota, bobcat and yanmar, still preferred the Takeuchi, also I kinda knew the Takeuchi sales rep so that helped a bit.

Im still going to stress to you to hire a 219 before you take the plunge into a bobcat!!!!!
