Patio slab ideas?

Has anyone got any recommendations for something to bond Indian sandstone slabs to an existng concrete slab- it's for our house and could do with something fairly instant as will need to walk over it to get in and out of the house- I laid a proper patio out the back earlier in the year and have just enough slabs to go over the concrete slab at the front too.
Some sort of exterior grab adhesive perhaps then I can just point them in the traditional manner once set?

Try CT1. Stuck load of slate slip to block work 3 years ago....it's lasted better than I ever imagined.

I guess depends how flat the concrete is. It's a preferred method when instaling porcelain/ceramic to use an outdoor tile adhesive on a concrete base, not sure how that would work with Indian sandstone as slab thickness varies even with calibrated slabs. In which case sand and cement? If you want to really get them to stick prime with SBR cement slurry.

Can't you just use a cement slurry?? Or even building sand and cement slurry
Can use rapid set and will walk on them in an hour

I have used SBR slurry before to do similar job- it does stick them down well but you wouldn't want to walk on the slabs for a while. Hence trying to find something that's sets quick. Your right about slab thickness though- can be up to 10mm variation in some of them

Any outdoor adhesive with co-polymer technology will do the trick. Sbr and fast set slurry would work but you’d best work quick!! Or an outdoor tiling adhesive- this would probably be easiest.

How thick is the slab ?
why not break it up and lay them properly
Laying on top is laying properly, subject to the right adhesive being used. You wouldn’t take up a concrete floor just to lay tiles would you? These slabs are only 20mm thick, pretty much just tiles!

You wouldnt lay any tiles on the wrong substrate though.
i asked the thickness of the slab because if it's a couple inches thick old concrete path it might be easier to break it with a sledge and then lay the slabs on sharp sand and cement.

I’m crediting @Storrsy with enough sense to know whether his slab is up to the job. Might be wrong though 🤷‍♂️🤣
