Yes we use slabs sometimes..Could you use pre poured concrete slab or concrete flags, just thinking outside the box
They're quite cheap! Trouble is you can only half fill anything if it's on the road..How about loading concrete into these and use trailer mounted hiab to lift them out, or add some sort of discharge valve?

cost and complexity'd be my guess ... plus that drum'd be fair rotating at 50mphWhy don't they do a ground drive option
you see this one?
Can't find anything in uk.. Guess a cube plus the kit is going to be close to or over 3500kg so not valid for UK/Europe market.
Yes a local company to here did something similar. Running round on red as well!A local firm a few years ago bought a smashed up ready mix lorry cut the front off and welded a tractor hitch on and run it on power take off but got hounded by the police trying to catch on something in the end he got rind off it.
The only pan mixer I have used run on a tractor power take off and it worked well
Bloody Americans not being stuck with 3500KG. Need a gooseneck one electric brakes and with 5th wheel in my dmax. Then I could take 1.5m cube!
Would make braking fun as well unless you put a freewheel on there!cost and complexity'd be my guess ... plus that drum'd be fair rotating at 50mph![]()
What about ibc containers, cut top off make your own lid. My mate gets them foc. Just uses the cages for logsThey're quite cheap! Trouble is you can only half fill anything if it's on the road..
Yes we use lots of old IBCs for waste handling skips and for removing hardcore from site as I can take them round the back and tip them out with the forklift. We use them for bringing excess ready mix BACK to site but no so much use on site unless we have the micro on site and I don't like using it for concrete as it's still quite shiny! I want something that I can hook up in the yard, swing by the eready mix plant, drive out to site with half a cube or so and be there for about 20 minutes tipping it into barows for 2 lads on site, then I can beetle back to the yard, wash out and carry on with my day of office or yard work or back in the van for a survey or plumbing job.. now the empty load charge is £155×vat then if I can sort a wee load out in 2-3 hours then it's still a superior job to mixing our own on site, plus by my calcs it's cheaper to buy readymix than it it for me to buy the materials... !What about ibc containers, cut top off make your own lid. Sub the bases to a small Groundworks outfit 2 man team etc let them do them on price to your spec then it’s their problem.Yes its an issue.. We usually seem to get over it okay, it's usually laid within 30 minutes of being mixed/loaded and if you spread it out over the slab evenly it seems to finish off OK. I'm just trying to find a simple ish low labour option. Taking lads off heating jobs where we are charging out at nearly £50 an hour to drive a shovel instead is something I am keen to reduce.
