No its shite Fred ... gets pulled up and weeds still grow
Only trouble with all your grasscrete, grids etc is eventually the grass grows over the top and you end up no better off than grass for mud if its wet. Most of the issues with gravel come from what's underneath it if it doesn't drain well. At least with gravel you can scrape it off with ditching bucket and re gravel, not so easy with other methods.

With you in this one. Chunky hardcore needs to be blinded with type 1 well compacted before gravel on top.No to terram, gravel won't stay put on it unless you pile it on and create a gravel trap for cars and as i mentioned earlier it makes scraping off and re gravelling later if needed an utter t**t.
It does stop the bulk of the weeds growing any deeper than the gravel mind but there's a few which will punch through terram.
As for the gravel mixing with the hardcore without it not a problem unless your hardcore is lacking fines or compaction imho.
If the hardcore lacks fines in areas (which sometimes happens as you trim it to grade with the machine) then we blind with a bit of fines and wacker in before the gravelWith you in this one. Chunky hardcore needs to be blinded with type 1 well compacted before gravel on top.
What do you use for fines to add?If the hardcore lacks fines in areas (which sometimes happens as you trim it to grade with the machine) then we blind with a bit of fines and wacker in before the gravel![]()

Use a sand non classé - called" 0-6mm sable TP" - massive heap at end of quarry not classified used to backfill trenches/tanks etc - sets really hard after compaction. What do you use for fines to add?
something akin to 'quarrydust' over here 'praps ... tops planings off nice .... put 60 ton down in my yard to blind off the hundreds of tonnes of planings when I did that years agoUse a sand non classé - called" 0-6mm sable TP" - massive heap at end of quarry not classified used to backfill trenches/tanks etc - sets really hard after compaction.
Adblue does a good job of killing weedsWeedkillers have been banned for the public for a year or two here in France and I am continually getting asked what we can offer driveways ect , lots of people dont like concrete or tarmac and everyones gravel driveways are basically just weeds now (mine down to the man cave included) and I wondered if anyone had any experience with an overflow parking type product that would be suitable for certain secondary drives to garages etc ie grass grows through and can be mown but allows traffic in winter all the same.
Cheers
