Common sense would say if no structural damage cone shoulder off and let everything flow till 9pm.tonoght when it's deserted FFS.

Been from Hertford to Colchester and back this evening. Return trip was like when I started driving 20 years ago, so not a massive amount of time ago, road far from deserted but just flowing the whole timeDunno it's long gone

They didn't shut it which to be honest was the wrong decision. I went past and they had 2 wreckers In lane one with only the traffic wombles tm behind them. Problem was the fog was really really bad. <100m visibility even with all the flashing lights on the wreckers.
Very easily could have got a lot worse
