Ok...so a month in.and 1500 ishmiles
Smoooth. Plenty of grunt proper nice V6 feel. Much more V6 style drive than old one very lazy unit bags of torque sounds a feels exactly like my old disco v6.which is what it is apparently.
Interior very techy got every gadget imaginable .

Cons..
No1 no f tow bar!! And not available from dealer so I've got one coming this week from Aussie a proper 2in reciever type . Been using missus's defender for towing so not moaning to much 😆

Engine management light came on at 800 miles ...true ford style it's just adblu sensor software fault apparently and shows a fault code on my reader. Due for upgrade anytime I can get it down to dealer.

Decided to go bite the bullet and get a proper alu canopy with shelves so that's due next month.

Apart from that I like it but true test will be next month...off road day with the lads at pay and play site...let's see what breaks 😂😂🫣

A hell of a lot of the new ranger about on the roads now round here !

And obligatory poser pic. Let the pisstaking commence

Saw one in the flesh the otherday, similar to yours and it looked amazing!
I’d of got a aftermarket tow bar on it straight away, that is if the resellers I have seen advertising them actually have the stated stock?

The problem with these high mileage pickups is not how long they will last but how much people want for them. I bought my l200 at 177000 miles but only paid 2k for it at the height of COVID prices so think that fair enough. Plenty of trucks same age and milage at the time wanting 7 or 8k which in my mind is far to much for a truck that someone's had the best part out of

It will be a 2.0L but had 2 of them for 7 years loved em did everything I needed tow surprisingly well and can be tuned ok.
Usual stuff timing belts etc need checking but nothing horrendous.
Darkside lads just ripped one apart to fit tray back and I was pleasantly surprised how rust free it was.

I just couldn't drive something I'm embarrassed to pronounce 😆
Hahaha to be fair he’s had two, first one was our main towing vehicle, did 125k on original clutch and was still going strong! Second wasn’t used for work but had lots of electrical gremlins ontop of impossible part availability!

First one was basically a merc G wagon engine/gearbox & drivetrain… all I had to do on it was rear springs and then a set of assist springs and glow plugs - a lot less hassle than the defender before it!!

I've given them a passing thought a few times over the years ... seemed to be pretty reliable buses
