All I can say is in 18 years I've never gone back on a hilux. Bought 2nd hand and sold for more between 3 and 5 years later.

Had rangers and navaras too. Both ok but I'd not look to buy them again. Unless a mint WRR came along. Driven most of them tho.

Currently we have 2 lux and 1 isuzu dmax.

I like the d max but jump in the black lux which is now at 170k and it still drives down the road better. Isuzu is 60k less.

My dad sold his mk4 lux few years ago, I bumped into it and it's new owner a few days ago. It still puts a good shift in.

Old is gold. As they say.

I like my pick ups basic. I've a range rover for comfort but realistically I don't need it it's more a want it.

I had my mk7 Hilux from new, 11 years old now, even if I chopped it in it would have cost me 1k a year……!! The only reason I’d consider swapping it is it’s max towing weight is only 2800kg.. I can only justify new if I base it on 10+years ownership, most things make sense when divided by 10!

Just had a quick google to look to see what is about.
I still thing that I need the current set up of Iveco, old disco and Range Rover Sport. I would need the Hilux to do all 3 and with my varied work and family life I need to many extremes rather than one all rounder!!

Similar here. Iveco flat bed for own jobs, rr as main tow tug for machines, rrs as 2nd tug/family car, smaller vans for lads/nipping about. Costs a bit in tax and insurance but like having plenty of vehicles for different purposes but also if anything off road it’s no problem as others available

I also find the RRS is quite popular in the family when they need to “borrow” something for a week or 2 whilst other vehicles off the road!!

You mean engineered to get away with the smallest build cost that only just meets specification and lasts 2mths longer than the warranty
