Picked this up a week ago.
Looks and feels big for a sub 3 ton machine,very nice in the cab, even got a cupholder, that is progress!
Feels alright in the pretend grading I did on the drive, not perhaps the smoothest on the hydraulics but neither is the kx61 that I’ve run for years and graded a lot of material with.
Should have it on a job next week, see how she beds in .

I take it that is the non hi-spec looking at the single aux. Does that mean aux is on the peddle?

Yep,our local dealer could get me a standard 030 or hi spec 027 anything else would be months away.The aux is on the peddle.does’nt bother me as I will rarely have anything hydraulic on it,kept my old 61 for now to use on the breaker or any tighter ,machine scuffing type jobs.

Yeah no worries,ready to go with hyd hitch,beacon radio,4 buckets,5 yr warranty was £31,000 plus vat, manual hitch was £29,500.
I was happy with the price.
The 027 was I think 2 grand less.

Sounds a fair price (by today's standards). I was quoted £36k for a 2.8t bobcat with twin lines the other day. Best of luck with it

Seems a bit heavy,I was offered a Yanmar SV26 man hitch and 3 buckets (about 3 months ago) in stock at the time,£26 plus vat.There are genuine deals out there still.

The Kubota was from a small one branch dealer local to us.the Yanmar was from a regional dealer in Hampshire,they only had the one at the time,their next batch was going to be March but they were keen on pricing,we had a new micro off them and it too was very reasonable.I thought the sv26 was a steal to be honest,but the bit extra reach and depth on the Kubota is quite important on some of our current work.

Yes it’s the 030, without going out and checking I think it’s 2795 operating weight,2’ bucket etc. The replacement for the 71, the 027 replaces the 61 (narrower track frame I think).
I often regretted not going for a 71 over our 61, just for that little bit more reach.

Yeah I was looking last night. 2790 with standard bucket and full tanks, but not including hitch or added buckets. I guess the 027 has the advantage of being 200kg lighter which allows for a few buckets and hitch on the trailer too. Be interesting to compare the two in real world scenario and see what the difference is with lift capacity etc.

My tak TB125 is the same played weight. Makes you think by the time the hitch and thumb (in my case) are added plus usually two additional buckets on trailer it's got to be over 3000kg

Yep,I usually tow with an Iveco Daily tipper,so can drop allthe buckets in the bed,should keep just under 2.8 with the hitch,not too bad.

The kx71-3 has been an awesome workhorse for us, 4500 hours now but is heavy 2980kg base. But out digs the 61 by a whole factor more than the few hundred kg.

Cabs aren’t the best on the 71 but they grade and dig brilliantly and apart from wear parts we’ve had no problems with ours

We’ll be in the market for a new one soon but going to have a look around, what’s it like lifting a bulk bag? And is the cab door wider? And different front window opening mechanisms?
