Seller's description​

JCB Micro Plus 1 tonne Micro Digger 2195 hours on the clock, will increase slightly 4 buckets Expanding tracks LED Lights Loads of work done recently, including several hydraulic hoses, ram rods, bushes, ram seals, rebuilt track gearbox, rewiring etc. Good tracks Auxiliary hydraulic lines Very recently serviced Bad bits: Bit of play in some pins, but digs well Tracks slightly slower on one side This is by no means a perfect machine, however its a solid workhorse which has done me a good turn. Reason for sale is a potential change of direction with the business means the JCB potentially has to go! Currently just having fuel lines replaced and will be ready to go once done Also have a breaker that can go with the machine for extra if of interest
It’s a bit concerning that it’s needed so much work at just over 2000 hrs. It’s either had a lot of abuse or it’s not a very lucky machine. I’d also be looking at the slew ring if looking at that one.

2000 hours is a lot on a 2year old micro though? Probably ex hire.. they get battered.

I drove a e10 with 1500 hours and that was horrible. To be honest it was probably abused from day one but it's put me off anything small with some hours on.

It’s the final drive work, ram reworks, rewiring etc. that would bother me more than the wear on the pins. That machine is definitely not pre-loved. Mine is an ex-Lynch machine with around 2500 hrs, and has had a hard life, but it was just wear items, not mechanical issues that I had to sort.

Mines definitely looser with 230 hours (and I’m religious with grease).
I think one of the issues is the small pins don’t retain grease, especially the bottom of the stick, and tip links. They need doing a couple of times a day when working, but that’s never going to happen when they’re out on self drive. My new pins and bushes are “bedding in” after about 200 hrs, with only me on it. I lie, it went out on self drive for about five hours work, but I’d greased it first.

Yes every 4 hours for dipper onwards and all of em when it gets fuelled. Apart from the QH one as that's a little bugger to find

Black moly grease helps no end in having the grease stay on the pins (and all over your skin and jeans 🤦‍♂️🤣) I'd never go back to lithium except for bearings and the slew ring.

I have absolutely minimal wear in my e27 after 2000hours of the roughest kind of work.

But it's not 2 years old it's 20 years old. It's a 2004 machine

I think its right ,smaller the pins more often grease - on 6/8t I do all once a day and bucket end again @ lunch time.

So’s mine.

On another note, I’ve just watched our Ollie’s U10-5 review on YouTube. He sounds like a lovely well spoken lad. The U10 shares a lot with my mount except the servos. I was never bothered about lack of servos on a small machine until last year when I had a solid 6 hrs on mine broken by one tea and biscuit break. That was when I decided my next one will have servos.

I know it’s a few years back but I got some parts from Digbits, some from Shellplant (cheaper and genuine Kub). It was afterwards I found complete kits for less than I paid mix and matching. Obviously those prices are way out of date now.

Anyone know the max gradient an E10 can climb (without seizing engine etc). It is not quoted in specs, unlike other Bobcats (E14, E16, ) many machines it is 60% max. Was offered a cracking long term job yesterday by a guy I have known for years, does involve climbing slopes / forming a ramp to get to working areas. Some retaining walls have been replaced - foundations hand dug & waste piled everywhere. Would need small machine with wide track spread & ideally long blade arms. Not the job I spoke of on Ceeform years ago but sort of similar. Have promised to go back with inclinometer to measure slopes when owner next in country.

You need experience not measurements. Inclimeter isn’t worth a wank in this situation.

You’ll run out of traction and balance long before the engine is a problem… but it will become a problem once it’s laid over!

I’d be running out of both of those things at 30% let alone 60…

I've worked them on slopes before, never come to grief but always feared seizing the engine / having the pic up come out of hyd oil tank. Have been driving machines since 1979 mostly 3CX but some minis as well. 30 % = 1 in 3.2 or 17 deg. machine does not need to work on slope just get to the flatter work area. JD put a winch on a mini I seem to remember. Slope is no doubt fair bit less than this but just wanted the max before engine seized for peace of mind
Inclinometer was a thing I made up to avoid making slopes so steep they would not self sustain (1 in 3 in most soils in our climate)
