They understand the workshop compressor is only 10 bar but ask for the15bar regulators to allow for constant more controlable supply when working at the top end of the pressure. Our workshop compressor can actually produce 12 bar but is set to 10 for handyness tbh. Where can I get a 15 bar inert gas gauge for 300bar cylinders 😶
We got an oxygen one coming from local industrial supply company but they can't get an inert one until October 😣

try your local BOC gas and gear ctr. .... TBH the O2 / inert 'll be the same reg. just badge-ed up differently .... I always used 2 stage/2 clock O2 reg.s on the MIG bottles .. better flow control and cheaper usually ;)

Who's best for some argo shield, needed for long term but use is little, not for me but very good friend. He's running low on existing and no longer in a position to get it as he did....especially as some idiot keeps asking him for little jobs.

LOL .... got the same problem ... on me last bottle ... as an agent was never an issue ;)
see if you can find an SGS Gases outlet round you ... no rental on cylinders :giggle:
otherwise you need a very co-operative agent, but not so easy now they're all bar coded (but do-able if you really want to)

I got sick of telling B O C to drop the rental on the X or Y sizes and bump the fill price up .... could've dramatically increased their sales to hobby/infrequent users 500% .. no problems

Yup, SGS or Hobbyweld, depending upon your nearest outlet. Motor factors often stock one or the other, I find it just as cheap as BOC when you take into account them bringing a new one out and taking the old one back.

You just pay a deposit on a bottle which you get back whenever you are done with it- I have around six bottles from SGS.

Rather than making a new thread -
What’s the going rate for 6f2 collected? I’ve about 150 ton to sell on to make way for the next lot to be crushed ! Just want to make sure I’m not cutting myself short!
It’s top grade stuff, absolutely no crap or soil in it whatsoever!

Watch out on timber prices (softwood).

I normally buy from Scandinavian mills with UK offices - Stora/Vida/Sodra/ATA etc... and initially there was a shortage - due to COVID lockdown and the "Scandinavian summer 1month holiday" - due to their long winters (this was 2020).... 2021 the prices went ridiculous; as there was a genuine shortage. The £12k wagon that used to pull in my yard... ended up costing £48k.

They told me there was still a shortage early this year... (you have a shortage of 60-80yr old trees??? yeah, ok!)

I've just switched to German and it's almost back to pre-COVID prices.

But the Scandies - are still taking the p1ss. They have a sh1t load on the docks unsold.

bought a truck load years ago for purlins and a big mezzie on a building we were doing ... offed 'em with the flt, cut the bands and there wasn't a usable length in the packs .... "Send yer rep down here now, then come get this crap and replace it all " cut the bands on the truck on the next load ... threw the ratchets over it all, as it was and bought it elsewhere  .... cost me a week on the job and a lot of hassle ... wasn't cheap timber either:mad:
