100mm dense blocks were £7.25 a metre here on a direct load last December. Went up 17.5% in Jan and have gone up a further 15% in April. Glad I got my 60 packs in before end of last year.

gov needs to look into all these so called increases. monopiles are fleecing everyone.

Gyproc own jewsons etc

no way one supplier can do 110mm underground at £20 a length cheaper than another.

Some fuckers are making massive money from the trade.

All these companies own companies unless you can find a local independent merchant

I read once many years ago that if you can trace back through all the various holding companies, etc., etc., 98% of the world is owned by 5 major corporations .. Hansen being one

Just ordered 19 sheets of A252 mesh and 290 L bars for a job we are on at the moment

I've now started asking suppliers for prices on lots of stuff due to the current market I'm always very honest with them from the start and say I'm putting it out to x2 suppliers so please give me your best price first time around

Price one - £2131.19
Price Two -£1599.58

Which to me is a big price difference!

I got a price yesterday for 1"schedule 10 stainless steel pipe which is usually £9/£10 per meter and they wanted £45 a meter 😶 they did say it was European stock as apposed to imported stock. needless to say I went back to my usual supplier 😅

The insane and continuing price rises have actually stopped us from pricimg most jobs.
We now give them a list of rates, plant and labour and materials at cost plus a small percentage ,show them invoices for materials for transparency.
Seems to be working out pretty well at the minute.

We got a machine coming in a few weeks and the supplier is saying we need to get a couple regulators for the gas cylinders. The have to Be a certain type (2 stage 0-15bar) and there's a bit of a shortage at the moment and any we find is quoting around 3 times the normal cost 🤑

Plasma cutter, uses oxygen and nitrogen and a bit Argon. Our compressor is 10bar and they are asking for a 15bar regulator on it also 🤔
They are easy to get but the regulators for the gas cylinders seem to be non existent 🤦🏻‍♂️

seems pretty bloody pointless TBH ... what're the working pressures? ... very few industrial gas reg.s go above 10bar ... would be special gases and Ar and N2 barely qualify for that category? Why O2 ??
gonna take some finding, a compressor that works at 15 bar and'd need to be higher to produce a consistent 15bar output.
early plasmas used N2 and CO2 and needed a heater on the reg. for the CO2 .... they've come a long way since then though .... what's the capacity of cut?
