Not a huge amount of vans available ATM, the super deductions ending next month is driving prices up on what's available

Been looking at getting another van for the fleet, preferably a transit H2 L2 in silver but since I've started looking the new vans have gone up in price and got rare as hen's teeth. All the ones on auto trader you phone about either don't exist or are priced extortionately 😶. The guy on the today pretty much said the reason is the tax super deduction coming to an end in march is driving it.
It's kinda also the reason we've decided to go new 😆

What does that carry. Looks the dogs 🐶
Not a great deal I wouldn’t imagine! It’s a 3.5 tonner 177hp 4x4 auto. Won’t be used for carrying much weight on the road, more as a tool carrier towing tracked chippers to jobs further from base. It’s 21 plate done 18000 miles with a massive spec (heated steering wheel ffs!). It’s not currently a tipper but I’ll probably convert it for the odd job where it is needed (but I’ve told the lads this truck is not for general tree-work abuse, any damage will be coming out of their pockets, this is mainly a decent way to get to and from jobs), along with some knobbly tyres so it looks kool!
Not exactly the spec I was looking for but new 4x4 ones aren’t currently available and the prices have gone mental.

Can someone like sv tech upgrade the towing capacity on them?
Really like the look of the the but need 3.5t towing and 4x4. Not that I need 4x4 very often but occasionally end up in fields that are soft with a fully loaded trailer, where just rwd won't cut it

SV Tech can’t upgrade these (I asked when I got my van), so they are limited to 3000kg towing/6000kg train.
My van has been over a weighbridge close to 7.5 tonnes (with trailer obviously) and drove fine - they tow very well.
This will predominantly be towing chippers that are around 2.5 tonnes all up including the trailer.

Lovely looking pick up . I wasn’t fussed on the bfgs til I got mine which was fitted with them and I would replace with the same now .
They are so nice to drive . When I got my sprinter I thought it was like a roller compared to the previous transit but these make the sprinter seem like an old scamwell lorry.

Awesome mate👍👍
you still thinking about a lorry to carry your gear🤔
you found a container yet?
Yes to the wagon when I pull my finger out - life seems to be getting in the way though somehow!
Someone beat me to the Knowsley container unfortunately (I’m not actually looking for one at the moment but was asked if I could get that shifted off site, someone higher up decided (correctly in fairness!) that it ought to stay!)…

The saga continues, local garage I use ordered an egr valve not the cooler I asked for. Now aparently they need a part number as VW won’t cross reference even though parts seem to be dual-branded. Can’t help but feel frustrated with the van at the moment. Edit: spoken to nearest Man dealer, going tomorrow to collect direct 🙄.

Was at a job yesterday and a local joiner stopped talking to me and asked about my van. He’s got a long wheelbase fwd 3.180 that’s done 40k, allready had a set of driveshafts and now in at dealer with similar coolant loss to mine 😬
