Makita 18v batteries

I have a makita specialist literally 3 miles away. Picked a new sds from him the other day for £65. 18v has drill/hammer drill and chisle settings.
Had few bits off him over years.
Only thing I didn't get off him recently was the brushless grinder as that was on offer with 2x 5.0ah batteries.

Can't remember how much he said for 6.0ah batteries but I can find out if anyone needs.
Please do, best I’ve seen is just under £60 plus vat.

Sod Makita, switch to Milwaukee. Knocks the spots off Makita for everything I need bar the grease gun and the rebar tying machine.
I’ve got a load of Makita stuff (including a couple of chainsaws that we use in the local zoo) and am generally happy with how it performs for my use - I’m not rushing to add a load more batteries and chargers into the confusion just yet!!!

Makita still win on availability though. Can always get Makita kit somewhere for a huge percentage of their range. Whereas a lot of Milwaukee is still next day.
If you break something in a morning that can be 24hrs before you can get back to work.

Toolstation have a mega deal on a drill, SDS drill and a couple of 5ah batteries and a charger but not in stock anywhere I can find and not available for delivery. Take it off the farking website then!!!
Think my mate managed to find 1 last week funnily enough

Not been my experience on the 3/4 impact wrench Ive found on two separate occasions. Despite the Milwaukee torque claims

Anyone else found makita 6amp batteries a bit loose in some tools? I've got 3, bought at different times from ITS so all legit and not the same batch.
Sometimes, very occasionally the tool seems to cut out, I have to give them a shake/put them back in and they're fine. Happened in a few different tools, never happened with 5amp🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

But I am still perfectly happy with all my 18v makitas, although I do now have a brilliant 18v milwaukee impact wrench and a couple of batteries, so if and when any red 18v stuff is needed it can be bought 👍👍

I've run both. The 3/4 makita used to be used all the time, now I've switched the 3/4 Milwaukee is only used rarely when the 1/2" won't do it.

Just to follow this up, seems like it's actually a little bit of wear in some of the tools.
There's a little pin/clip/terminal in the base of the tools, little bend inwards with a screwdriver and then gently put the battery in, works as good as gold afterwards.👍👍👍
