I did briefly consider a tipper truck, but for me it's just not worth the expense of maintenance, Tax, MOT, insurance etc when it'll be stood for most of its time.
If we'd had a Summer like the last two, or even back in June at least it would have got up there, but not after the recent heavy rain.
My 4x4 is off road only so I can play with it when I get the time. They came with two types of rear diffs and mine had the crap one (which went to no LSD) I had it swapped out for the earlier stronger version which I realise now was a mistake maybe, what I should have done is welded the original one up solid. I still have it so plan on doing this - if it ever stops raining. The later LSD in there now is much better, but it still slips if enough torque is applied.
You might recall from my other thread that I have a locking front diff kit for the front, I just haven't had time/weather to fit it yet. With a locking front diff and welded rear diff it'll be pretty much unstoppable as it's only when it goes 2wd that it struggles (one at the front, one at the back). There is that and also improving the bits of land where it does get stuck. The one in the pic is on my land so I can drop a load of hardcore in and make it less steep. It was such a steep incline the hitch bottomed out in the dip which didn't help.
The entrance track to our house and fields is owned by our nobber of a neighbour who has messed them both up with his greed and stupidity before we got here. Just trying to get out of the fields today over his ruined track took several attempts and my lovely new trailer looking like this:

Taking it slowly and surely failed twice. It needed a run up with a bootfull in a higher gear to do it, but I was lucky not to slide into a wall.
It'll powerwash off!
