Hi all,

It was recommended we post our company details here for future reference.

We are Laser Levels Online. A family business based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, who unsurprisingly based on the name, solely specialise in Laser Levels :)

Selling mid-range (Fukuda) or premium brand (Spectra Precision) Rotary and Cross Line Lasers as well as supporting accessories (Tripods / Staff's etc..) aimed to meet a wide range of customer budgets and requirements.

So whether you are doing General Groundworks, Field drainage, 800m of Fencing or any conceivable application in between, we have a Laser Level option for you.

All products we sell are kept in stock and are checked and calibrated (where applicable) by us before dispatch. We typically use DPD Local which is a free next working day or free 2-day service to Ireland courier service for all orders placed and paid for Monday - Friday before 3:45 pm. Excluding weekends and all Bank holidays.

If you are unsure which laser you require, give us a quick call on Freephone: 08000 869 769 and our extremely knowledgable team will talk you through the various options. It is often best if you can see our website in real-time so that we can talk and show you the different laser level choices based on your budget.

All lasers we sell are backed up by full repair & calibration facilities. This is important as so many online tooling retailers nowadays are simply "moving boxes" with little onward support and limited product knowledge.
At the end of the day you are buying precision levelling equipment (not a hammer) and we think it's nice to know that be it a week after purchase or 6 years down the line, you can always call us up and talk through your particular levelling application and receive guidance on how to get the most from your Laser.

Be sure to check out our website here: www.laser-level.co.uk or call Freephone: 08000 869 769

Thanks

Mark Roberts

What do you have laser wise for setting 90° corners and being able to do grading with?

I got the stabila corner laser from them, all I can say is you wont bugger aboiut with tapes and string anymore. It's a bit of dollar but you can get a true corner in under a minute on your own. I sit it straight on the footing no tripod.

You will need a normal rotary for grade.

My laser 'collection' comprises.

Stabilla LA180
Dual Grade Rotary
Normal receiver that clamps onto a length of batten and also has a mag mount for the boom
Spectra LR50W - machine laser with remote cab display. Corrects for plumb. https://www.laser-level.co.uk/spectra-lr50w-mm-machine-control-detector.html

All in all a fair bit of dollar but it does mean setting out is now trivial no matter if the site is level and the footings are bang on everytime. I would not like to go back to 2 people/strings/tapes/pythagoras simply due to the extra time/money the old method takes. The Spectra has paid for itself now in muck away savings alone. No banksman with laser on stick, the mag mount for a normal receiver is ok but unless you put the bucket AND arm in the exact same place everytime ten you can be inches out. This corrects automatically for that.

Hi Brendan,

Thanks for your message.

Many of our rotary lasers have the ability to do 90° setting out for corners and this removes the need to use set squares or 3-4-5 triangles.
Although relative, it is, however, one of the more complicated functions to master but some of this is down to technique. All rotary lasers which have 90° capability do it in the same way.

Ultimately it depends on your individual budget, but lots of customers decide to go one of 3 ways when they need a groundworks rotary, with grading capabilities but also want to easily set 90°...

Unfortunately, my account will not allow me to post active links so if you want to visit any of the pages below please copy and paste.

1) Some customers decide simply to focus on getting a good horizontal groundworks rotary which also has the ability to set slopes and gradients. They then pick up a smaller multi-line laser which fires a minimum of two vertical lines at 90°. The beauty of the multi-line laser is that it can be placed over the corner pin / peg etc... and fires a down dot. It then fires one vertical line forward of your position (say down a trench line) and then wherever you set the first line the second vertical line will automatically be set at 90°. Outdoors you will need a multiline laser with its own detector and this detector can be run on its side (like you may do with an iPhone in landscape mode) and instead of getting up and down arrows you will essentially get left and right arrows allowing you to lock onto each vertical line and then mark its position.

This route is essentially splitting the task into two parts. Leave the rotary to the long-range horizontals and setting slopes and gradients and use the multi-line to quickly set 90°. Especially when the 90° is usually only for up to 30m etc...

Examples of this type of setup would be:

(Mid-range Option)

Fukuda FRE-205 Duo Kit:

www.laser-level.co.uk/products/rotary-laser-level-kits/fre-205-ek-112r-auto-rotary-laser-level.html

The Fukuda FRE-205 is a fully self-levelling, has an accuracy of ±3mm @ 30m, rechargeable, horizontal only laser level with a range of 500m diameter. It also has the ability to set slopes and gradients.

Combined with something like the Orient LP412 and LR-60 Detector (tick box option) for the 90°.

www.laser-level.co.uk/lp412-laser-cross-line-level.html

Or

(Premium Brand Option)

The Spectra LL300N Premium Kit configured to have the RC601 Remote control for slopes and gradients shown here:

www.laser-level.co.uk/spectra-ll300n-auto-rotary-laser-level.html

This is a full self-levelling red beam rotary laser which levels on the horizontal. It is accurate to ±2.2 mm at 30 m, range of 500m, has an IP rating of IP66 (Dust tight / Protected against powerful jets of water) and a 5 year warranty. It is rechargeable but can also run on alkaline batteries.

Combined with something like the Spectra LT56 Premium Kit and HR220 Detector (tick box option) for the 90°.

www.laser-level.co.uk/products/spectra-laser-levels-and-laser-accessories/spectra-precision-lt56.html

2) Some customers decide to just purchase one rotary laser which can do Horizontal, Vertical, 90° Squaring & Dual Grade as an all in one.

Examples of this type of laser include:

(Mid-range Option)

The Fukuda FRE-203XR shown here:

www.laser-level.co.uk/fre-203xr-auto-rotary-laser-level.html

This is a full self-levelling red beam rotary laser which levels on the horizontal, vertical and 90° squaring and dual grade. It is accurate to ±2.8 mm at 30 m, range of 500m, has an IP rating of IP55 (Protected against dust / Protected against jets of water from any direction) and a 2-year warranty. It is rechargeable but can also run on alkaline batteries.

(Premium Brand Option)

The Spectra HV302 shown here:

www.laser-level.co.uk/spectra-hv302-auto-rotary-laser-level.html

This is a full self-levelling red beam rotary laser which levels on the horizontal, vertical and 90° squaring and dual grade. It is accurate to ±1.5 mm at 30 m, range of 800m, has an IP rating ofIP66 (Dust tight / Protected against powerful jets of water) and a 5-year warranty. It is rechargeable but can also run on alkaline batteries.

3) Along the lines of option 1, some customers decide to split the work between a rotary but this time combine it with a specialist Layout Station like the Stabila LA 180 L Fred has mentioned in his post. This is not a cheap option but boy does it get the job done :)

So you would combine...

With the Stabila LA 180 L (special order item) Layout Station shown here:

www.laser-level.co.uk/products/stabila-rotary-lasers/la-180-l-laser-cross-line-level.html

So there are lots of options available.

I hope this helps.

If anyone has any questions let me know.

Best regards

more posts needed Graham ;)

its set to 5 iirc

Ok good to know.
As a dealer/distributor it is unlikely there would be a reason for us to start 5 brand new posts (obviously excluding replies) without it being perceived as spam but understand the rules are there to protect the other forum members.

In terms of the original message, the main body of the links are there. Any member interested would just need to copy and paste it into the address bar to access the specific product page.

Thanks

I think you have probably hit the number now.

It’s to stop up being spammed by China 🇨🇳 and wherever else plus it also stops people joining for promotion only. I quite like it as we have never had spam nor random promotion

Welcome to the forum :)

I was just thinking of asking the same, sounds interesting.
Craig are you V8Druid asking how the LR50W corrects for plumb?

If so the LR50W doesn't to my knowledge. It doesn't physically correct it. It simply gives you a visual indicator as to if its plumb or not. The even bigger brother of the LR50W - the LR60W comes closes in that it has a patented angle compensation indicator as well as plumb which automatically calculates and corrects the grade display for the angle of the arm.

Yes, When Fred said about correcting for bucket and dipper arm position, I was thinking the must of been some kind of position sensor on the pivot points, which thought was a bit complex for something that could be swapped from machine to machine.

thats right it just corrects the 'on grade' green lights for +/- 30 degrees dipper out of plumb. so you have a wide arc of grade when pulling not just a single position as this could mean you are too low then on grade then too high if your not taking the reading at the exact plumb position.

I think its really made for bigger machines where you cant see the detector on the dipper thats why it has a cab remote display.

Expensive yes but unlike the labourer allways turn up for work when I do and doesnt spend half the day on the fecking phone.

no nothing like that, just a mag mounted pole onto which it bolts so you can move it to any machine no wiring etc, the cab remote is bluetooth or something no wires anyway. Never leave it on the machine as it would be gone!
