Kubota kx71-3 pump whine slowed hydraulics

Anything that saves a few dead hours in the week can only be a good thing,it Often makes smaller jobs viable too.It also gives me the luxury of not putting the new machine on some of the ‘more likely to scratch machine’ type jobs which are sometimes unavoidable.

I have a kx71-3 and can’t see any reason to replace it yet!!

It isnt your only machine though and if it was your main money earner you maybe would do .. I won't be selling mine either any time soon for same reasons although the whiney hydraulics get right on my wick.

I'd say back in 2016 they were low 20's to buy new - 3000hrs on her and only 3k off the price would be resale of the century!


The 8026 cab isn't its best feature although the door is a bit wider than the old Kubota. But she sure can dig. And its not just me saying it now - they get a lot of love on the below 8t group on FB

It is the machine that seems to clock up most of the hours!!!
I am thinking it will need some rebushing now it has clocked up 5000hours. I think I would still rather spend out on that than throw another £20-30k at upgrading the digger and Tilty.

Unless the oil was very dirty, then it may be you have a leaky filler o ring, and I have service in the past Kx 71-3 @ 6000 hours plus!

Did you change the pilot filter? If so make sure you fit the new o ring they do the same thing as once off they stretch, causing intermittent pilot pressure to the levers and a weeping filter housing!

no where is the pilot filter on the kx71-3 I wasn't sure had one, fitter who does a bit for us said he didn't think it had one either, some show it above pump left hand side of engine bay but mines has accumulator there not pilot filter

Follow hose from the pilot pump it may have servo filters which are in a little hose extension under each arm!
