The latch on the bucket when working reversed is what I’m talking about - that setup is designed to be strong forcing the bucket through the ground. If you hung forks off it you’d be asking a lot of the latch end!
no - the forks would be under the hooks ... B20 is NOT reversible unless under a rotator or tilty ... when I pick up my forks on the Hill PUP under the VA-r I always pick them 'backwards', with the latch to the rear ... on my Miller 70mm I always put the safety pin in so the latch can't drop them

Not if you have a tilty under a qh though - that top hitch would be very weak. Or if picking up forks directly on the machine qh. Or direct mounting a tree shear (no tilty).

the wedge and hook is massive on the B20 though Dan and constantly under pressure with a hyd. locking set up ... even with my own version, it would take soooooome force to either break or disengage it

nothing wrong with the penetration of those welds - parent material has let go .....
just not enough welds in the first place ...
looks to be a single pass - had they known Dan was gonna be using it it'd've been 5 passes minimum - maybe more to spread the inevitable loading.

TBH that is just not an adequate build - full stop

I bought it second hand off a hire company, and as far as I know that headstock was the original from the manufacturer (or the uk supplier at least).
It’d seen some work before my ownership as the knife (essentially the complete bottom plate of the shear) has a bit of a bend in it - I can only assume that the headstock had managed to resist failure prior to me getting hold of it, and there were no obvious signs of failure or cracking that I noticed.
It was a bit of a shock when it let go, and it was incredibly fortunate where/how it happened that I wasn’t working overhead… I wouldn’t much fancy 700kg of shear plus whatever it had cut falling back at me (cab guarding or not!)… 🤣

Was gonna say there's plenty of situations aloft when that let go that would have been very exciting albeit briefly 🫣🫣😳😳!

Seems like a good bit of kit and in the interest of things have had some info sent but not had a price but they do a basic version but is probably the most basic on the market, manual bottom hitch with 2 pipe setup but no control system so need to use a button to switch between tilt or rotate

so what service does it use to feed it @Brendan?
presumably using a 6 x 2 diverter to switch between functions - could be 'worked around' to give both ;);):giggle:

EMYH will be spitting feathers 🤣

If the pricing is right they’ll take some market share for sure e

This was what I was sent, still not had a price yet. Have asked if they have any sort of positioning sensor for connecting to idig to allow rotate to be monitored

After my conversations with kinshofer i'm under the impression that the df04 setup gives you tilt, rotate and auxiliary. The auxiliary function is controlled by a switch that takes hydraulics away from tilt. Plus, you can use machines existing hydraulic hitch lines, controlled by machines pre existing hydraulic hitch control system, to have hydraulic hitch on the unit. Aux flow is 30l/min. *Edit* this is with twin auxiliary lines on the machine.

There is a cat 302.7 that has one installed and there's a video online showing it off. Looks like a lovely setup, it's running a flail under it too... no follow up though, would be very interesting to hear customers feedback!

That's the video they they linked to, I watched it earlier looks good, hopefully with a more basic control system it isn't stupidly priced.
Seems they are ok putting it on larger machines as the cat would be over the weight but that cat is smart tracking on the sticks.
I've not got twin aux setup on the 8026 but had a price for parts around 2k or so if I remember correctly

no rotary coupling for aux (or hitch) --- think DF08 is what you refer to

you may be hoping on that front
