Emailed him a week ago now and no response. Just had the invoice for the repair and emailed that to him too. Company I bought it from is Devon Plant Services and dealt with Aaron Luscombe. Would advise anyone to steer well clear.

That’s a shame they won’t be getting any money from me in the future, got a digger off them a couple of years ago, thankfully no problems. Chris is the father Aaron and Matt are his sons, not a good lesson to teach your kids, they do have a Facebook page I would be writing something on there if I was you. Fxxxing idiots.

It’s Aaron I’ve been dealing with, he’s ignored my last couple of emails though. Maybe he thinks I’ll just go away and forget about it.

But that’s the thing with social media, if, used in the right way, it will give the small man a big voice.

It does amaze me that this has happened. Customers always ask us about warranty of corse it’s sold as seen but gentleman’s agreement is made because I wouldn’t want a bad reputation if a machine broke in the first however long and we did nothing but ignore the customer for weeks.
We sent a machine to Europe once it was a friends machine that we know well ( he done my drive ) a week after they had the machine they contact me with the boom ram having snapped internally? He sent me a report from jcb which states a bad repair had been made and we had known about it. We didn’t and the customer owned the machine from New and he didn’t ever have it repaired. I had to take it on the chin and send him a ram circa £350 to Estonia. I had no idea if he was being truthful but it’s part of the game as the saying goes some you win and some you lose

When you named and shamed earlier I googled them and found there fb page I am afraid I would have commented on there recent threads about the issue . That would have seen a very quick resolve

No such thing as sold as seen it doesn't hold any weight since consumer act came into force. Only way to sell it as that is as spares/repair.
You could technically take them to small claims court if you were inclined that way

I have thought about doing that, not sure if it’s worth the hassle though, especially being so far away.

Thanks Rory, I reckon your friendly hello would be slightly friendlier than mine 😀 Have you ever had any dealings with them?

I would’nt say “on here” as in this forum, just that on other “social media platforms”

these people were the brother and nephews of the guy who owned 'Devon Duck' I went to eyeball, when I was looking for a duck - 688 Case ... rotting as I looked at it:( ..... the description was a fantasy/fairy story :mad: ..... they also get up to Brightwells .... and there's some crap run through there :eek:

I have had both out of that place, to be fair we should all know better, but they sometimes have some ok kit

So Aaron called me this morning, after a bit of to-ing and fro-ing we came to an agreement. I didn’t particularly want to name and shame on Facebook but it seems to have worked, just a shame it had to come to that.
