Hello everyone, my first post here, probably of many more to come!
I have bought a JCB Beaver breaker pack. Have serviced the engine done a carb clean, topped up the hydraulic fluid and given it a good jet clean. The power pack seems fine.
I bought it broken, it hasnt been used for 10 years, but was only used for 2-3 years from new, hence its in reasonable condition. Whereby the two lower M12 cap-head bolts on the hammer unit had sheared and it puked some hydraulic fluid out, but no parts came out, it's now fixed and back together. I'm an engineer, I fix and repair a lot of plant, but this one has got me!!!
Anyway, the main problem..... when I engage the lever on the engine unit, the hammer unit instantly starts running, depressing both handles does nothing.
I read another thread saying take the black plastic clam-shell off the hammer unit and give the actuator stem a good dose of WD40, which I have done......but I don't know if it's stuck down or not? Height of the valve stem poking out is about 16mm, see pic below......what should it be?
Any suggestions welcome.
