We use NFU.. not cheap. Renewal this summer so will see how much it’s hiked. Paying £22k currently
my NFU motor policy for 3 vehicles went up 100 quid in Feb .....
they did all my biz insurances for years and were always superbly priced, with excellent cover .....
have never been able to do any good with them on my house insurance though, even though they get the chance every year, always a couple of hundred more than the Footman James policy I have had for years ... and that's steep enough

I've had some luck using mustard insurance, same as go compare etc but somehow comes in less.
Not sure if there is a secure compound option
I was with brentacre for the last 3 years with my ranger but they wouldn't insure the new one, was getting quotes north of 2k ended up around £750
Thanks I tried mustard, went with Admiral in the end.

Admiral website is actually quite good for fiddling around with the details, where it was parked overnight didn't make a huge difference though.

I remember reading years ago that car insurance was the only sector of insurance that consistently lost money (believe it was 5p for every £ in premiums)

Wonder if this is still the case now they're whacking premiums up 50% on average?

would never use Aviva ever again ... paid 30+ yrs private health care only to be told it didn't cover an inherited disease, that I knew nothing about, 'til struck down by it (and even then, so rare, it took them 6 mths to diagnose) Aviva're a bunch of twunts

Not heard that inherited thing...😕
I know most health policys won't cover chronic conditions like cancer etc which kinda defeats the object of having it imo

Watch the documentary on Quinn from Ireland really good. He said when he started insurance he couldn't believe the money they made so quickly. He said they aimed to pay out within 2 weeks so it was done and dusted on ea claim

never ever bothered with that .... have had some expensive animal repairs over the years, but it'd still not equate to insuring them all, by a loooooooong way

How did you get on ?
Having a play around on comparison site, and trying different things, it seems because I`ve got my dad as a named driver, no claims or convictions so got to be age related, with him off prices starting from £250.
But NFU quoted smidge over £500 with, and 470 without

Had a funny conversation with an access hire firm. I want to hire a tracked picker, machine only, one day. I asked for his terms. CPA so damage to or theft of machine is on me. Asked him if he could sell me a hired in plant insurance policy (had this whenever I've hired pickers before). He can't and he advised that they basically don't cover much anyway. What? So people just hire and hope do they?

Now I'm as sceptical as the next man about insurers wriggling but surely they can't be so useless as to do nothing?

Personally I pay the 20% waiver with our preferred hirer (CBL)
