The solution to the entire green system is to enforce and encourage ISO mounting points and dimensions for engines and gearboxes to certain vehicle sizes. It already happens with some trucks.

Then simply push for longevity of the chassis and encourage developments to be retrofitted. E.g a 2020 Iso vehicle on the road in 2040 could have it's small module reactor fitted 🤣

But then the company director couldn’t take his(normally a fella) huge stupid ridiculous directors bonus for selling far too many disposable vehicles each year!

Likely one of the thumper wagons that sends a HV pulse down a faulty cable to pinpoint the fault. About 100k worth of equipment fixed in them from memory and don't rack up the miles.

Wpd/national grid still have a few defenders floating about..... SWW have got rid of there's I think.
SWALEC/SSE turned up here a few weeks back with a genny behind an '05 LWB defender with their posh tool box on the back of it ... and see plenty of 'em about round here ... couple of cherry pickers too and Open reach still have LR mounted man lifts

Considering that most vehicles now are on PCP and all anyone looks at is the monthly payment it could actually work out very profitable for car manufacturers. They keep charging the same monthly rate for years on end but have to produce less vehicles

I think there was talk of Tesla refurbishing older cars for lease, makes perfect sense!

Yup there's one near here ...seen him washing it not driving it.😆
The forum has mixed reviews...leccy issues and waterleaks....anyone would think it's based on a defender 😂

Do you reckon it would be safe to take your cat to the vets in one ? 🤭

Wonder if it has the heavy duty Salisbury front axle? ..... that Cummins is a heavy lump 🤔
From the pics the answer is no, it doesn’t.

I believe the Cummins engine conversion overloads the front axle weight on a Landy sadly, so none of them are technically legal. Shame though as that’s a great truck!

The Isuzu I've got in mine is no lightweight and that sits well back in the engine bay 😉

I had a 110 with a (IIRC) Mazda 3.2 T lump in it once -- should NEVER have sold it .. went well and was economical ... over a grand profit was too tempting .......... however, a crystal ball would've been bloody useful, back then (just looked at the pic prop.s and it was taken Oct '05) (really wish I'd kept me ramp too )

Funnily enough the only vehicle I have never really missed was my defender TD4 , lovely engine in it, but it was uncomfortable, very thirsty, leaked a lot, parts were expensive and never easy to replace. Would of probably doubled my money on it if I’d kept it , but spent 5x more on maintenance

didn't say I missed it .. was defender comfort level -1, but was a handy bus and as said profit would've been huge today
