Just killed it for me by the looks the 5 seat commercial is non commercial for bik.
Again as Rory said archaic weight laws beyond crazy.
And some are saying the commercial is stuck with the van speed limits. Is this true of Discovery Commercials?

Yes, technically it's a van, whereas the standard 4x4 is a car. Commercial without rear seats wouldn't qualify for dual purpose plus is over the 2040kg unladen weight

Apparently iffy....likely it will never turn up as condition of contract is you can't resell before delivery...
I'm sat back and watching as now the whole commercial aspect is out or at least in question and they need to sell 75% in UK as commercial it may not end well.

I should think it's all tied into allowable emissions.
The emmisions total of all vehicles from a manufacturer can't exceed a certain amount. It's how come Toyota can run a bigger engine in the Hilux than ford. I guess commercial vehicles allow you to up the allowed emissions.
In short ...that's it.
