I was at about 60k plus vat for my spec , defender was 62k inc vat… I’m going to keep my Hilux and buy a van as well and still have plenty to spare

So was looking at the grenadier build page or at least just a blank page with just the important information and seen ....

bloody hell ... my P38 does 14.5 MPG consistently ....
my 7.5t Iveco used to do 21 mpg running light or 14+ MPG loaded, towing 3.5t (11t GTW) and driven hard
WTF is going to want to live with those sorts of figures, for what is essentially " a bastard child of a defender and g wagen " ? (love the description 6ft down ) ... I know what I'd rather drive at 14+ MPG AND it'll run on LPG at 80-ish p/ltr too

Don't fret to much tho Grenadier have no worries selling them they've pre sold a decent amount in the UK I'm told.
I'd have one deffo. Only vehicle on the market currently that feels like a proper long term vehicle and one you'd keep as opposed to modern disposable stuff.
I know a lot of folk still waiting to drive one before committing so expect sales to grow.
My gut feel is they'll be very successful....built by the Germans after all so expect a measure of reliability

Just advertising actual mpg? I've never had a car that gets close to it's advertised mpg ..
But does seem a bit low

The bloke I was working for last week has one on order. He is waiting for it to turn up supposedly any day.

If I had that kind of money the Aussie imported landcruisers are tried and tested. Not as luxurious but a well proven 500000 mile truck

Have you watched the reviews its getting on Youtube. A few proper car testers have been out in production models now and there are some good and some bad points as ever. The bulge into the footwell on RHD cars is a bit poor and means you have not really got anywhere to rest your left foot. Speedo isn't in front of you and the quality of the switch gear isnt what you would expect. But they do say it drives well, great engine and box, and there's a lot to like about its approach to life. I'm waiting for a few to be on the road first and they need to bring out the double cab pickup version out for me to be tempted. If it lasts twice as long as a normal pickup then its price is justified.

A few years ago I took a TWRf 6 litre V12 XJR-S out, It all of the TWR kit on it and also had a manual gearbox and was truly awsome, The accelaration was like a plane taking off, When I got back home with it I tapped tapped into the On board fuel info and it gave me 8 MPG and guess what it was worth every penny, What a car!

I think the idea of the Grenadier is to have inbuilt rugged reliability. If it has that it will gain a following.
Just done 860miles in the Range Rover sport to get to Austria. Every time the below 4degree alarm beeps we expect it to be the faulty air suspension warning. Thankfully it has just been the temperature warning. As the grenadier rides on springs that is a big plus for me!!

I think we need a forum demonstrator, between us all we can give it a good honest testing…. Obviously they’d have to expect it to come back painted gold & the engine swapped out for a 3cy yanmar

The trouble with all the Yank stuff is it really is another world.... there are a few bellends locally with F150's/250's..... I love them - But totally unsuitable for our roads.

The solution in the UK really rests on our ridiculous and Archaic O license laws.....

Got a cousin in Detroit came over recently and he says exactly the same no way you could run a 150 on anything but motorways etc.
Absolutely non starter due to width round here sadly

Just killed it for me by the looks the 5 seat commercial is non commercial for bik.
Again as Rory said archaic weight laws beyond crazy.
