Hearing what you’re saying about the tyres . What did you fit ?
They are 400/60x15.5, I got them as complete assemblies from the British rubber company, https://britishrubberco.co.uk
The rims where a standard stud pattern and the standard offset worked in that the tyres are the same width as the blade, and the overall diameter was about the same as what came off.
I would of liked a little wider but getting rims with a different offset to keep the width right was the problem, also I was struggling to find anything to keep the overall diameter similar to oe.
I tried to get these in 18 ply thinking they would be a bit stiffer when working FoW but where un available at the time, I could only get 14 ply, the OE tyres where 10ply I think.

The axles on this are HD in order to cope with twin wheels . tyres on this are 2x 7.00X15 16PR do you think these could be swapped for big singles or would I be wiser just going for same size tyres with better tread pattern .
The ones in it look like lorry tyres and won’t have much traction

Actually it looks like one wheel with 2 Tyres , could this be the case , I've never seen that before ?

The ones in it look like lorry tyres and won’t have much traction
Just looked on the spec sheet for mine, standard tyres where 12-16.5 10ply, big skidsteer type tyres, an option of dual 7.50 R 15 no mention of ply rating

Need to try one of these wheels guys . Firstly though I need to see is it one rim or two . I can’t find out anywhere it only mentions twin tyres not wheels

Can you explain what the difference is in using a scandi digging bucket ? I can’t see how a higher bucket with longer nose is better 🤷🏻‍♂️
Frank (bucket on wheels) explained it to me years ago .. basically it's about the pin geometry as well .. bucket bottom and tilty are horizontal, needing less curl - designed to be able to carry more materials on the extended toe of the bucket AND when side on/at 90 to the dipper, retain materials on tilt ... think about the degree of crowd needed to get the bottom horizontal on a 'UK' bucket ;)

My issue is that when you open the bucket in normal position , say loading a lorry or close it in the digging position ithe longer nose bucket has effected the break out force even more than a standard bucket would and given that a 2 hitch tilty has already taken a big bite out of it we should be looking to reduce it . Or am I missing something ?

I know where you're coming from Vin, but as Frank said, " you don't have to fill the bucket everytime " 'til it's spewing ... you're not bulking out with a tilty

I think the long nose is part of lowering the drag of the bucket through the ground as it increases the radius away from the rear of the bucket.

I did a Steelwrist training presentation a few months back about bucket design and it was very interesting, there's alot of effort put in to reduce the force required to dig, making it more suitable for tilty's where you've lost breakout because of build height.

Top plate angle is really critical and something I don't think many of the UK suppliers have got right yet, they all look too steep which massively limits the crowd angle at 90 degrees, our grades are around 15degrees and digging buckets 20ish I beleive.
