If it interests anyone I have a husqvarna 365xtorque sat in the shed that has done maybe 10 tanks of fuel at a push. Still on the original chain. It's the last of the old school models and really doing no harm sitting there so I would probably want decent money to part with it.

How big a bar do you want? 20-25" I would be going 044-462c series I got a 20 on that 044 in the picture next to the husky. Or 16-20" 028- 391 thats sort of what I'd be doing Im after a 028 to put a 16" on as I find the 044 has too much power for that really. I dont really know bugger all about Husqvarna apart from the 61 2 and 3 series are brilliant thats a 61 in the photo and its hell of a saw.

How much would you be looking for it?

got an 028AV super and an 034AV .... bout all I know other than they're constantly troublesome - great saws when they're running right, but have a lot of issues with a tiny filter in the carbs blocking .. have mentioned it several times before :mad:
gonna have to get 'em out shortly and have a concerted effort at getting them right - firewood time - got a few trees to lop up that've blown over and been seasoning nicely ;)

You dont have a hole in the in tank filter letting crap get to the carb do you? I've not had one yet so not had that problem before. Had the filter on the 070 that blocked it wouldnt suck fuel up when I first rebuilt it (didnt think to check it). Only Figured that out after lots of pulling my arm was like popeye.

new line, new filter - tried all sorts ... its's a tiny gauze, which I've also replaced, between the 'pump' and the carb body which gets blocked and 'gummed up' (got pix but can't find them right now) with the finest of dust (when dried) - like talc - have surgically cleaned everything multiple times, but this sh1t keeps on getting into that filter - literally like a gum when wet -- air filter is clinically clean and that's an hour or so's accumulation :mad: has done my swede
Just found the pix ---

same fuel can supplies my Husqy strimmer, leaf blower & hedge cutter - all run faultlessly and have done for years .. the 034 takes longer to gum but does - the 028 is a PITFA --- I'm gonna have it totally to bits shortly and see if I am missing something ?? :unsure:
am fed up with cleaning every conceivable component
agree the common denominator between both saws is the fuel can (and whatever I'm cutting) but the other three machines run flawlessly

are you using normal pump petrol? my brother in law was getting loads of problems with his stihl disk cutter and chainsaw and was advised to use pre mixed fuel i cant remember the name of it it is a lot dearer than pump petrol but since using it has had no issues with either of them. i use normal pump petrol but never leave any in the tank and after emptying the tank run the saw until it stops and it seems ok doing that. can be a bstard to start next time using it though.

only use E5 in all of our garden gear, mowers, etc. (and the P38) ... don't trust them with E10 ...... and that premix (which I can't recall the name of either:rolleyes:) is eye wateringly expensive... E5 is bad enough:LOL:

You can buy the additive cheaper than the petrol substitute

IIRC Aspen is 20 odd quid a gallon ?
just looked and :oops::oops::oops::oops:
Yeah but with the oil and faff it's about twice the price max . For an extra tenner knowing it's can sit in the tool for a winter and no hassle etc.
Modern fuel is crap. E5 will still cause issues.

Imo anyway 🤣
