Is it just the camera, but the grey panel just above the TB219 logo looks all caved in!?

It is just the camera, I see what you mean tho

personally my view would be considering that we ended up with Japanese manufacture's here in the UK like komatsu and Nissan , and Hitachi with a factory in Nederland's was directly as a result of the EU putting anti dumping tax on jap product being sold at less than production cost.

I would not be remotely surprised if the Chinese state is funding allot of producers many of whom are part owned by the Chinese state to sell product at below production cost to gain market share and keep factories busy .
That is good thing if you are in the market for a cheap digger but not for the longevity of existing manufactures and dealers here in the UK.

I have to say I am also a little skeptical of the often said remark of "its made up of blue chip parts , pumps, track motors , and Cummins/perrkins engine" or what ever I have often herd people complaining that the Chinese Generator they bough with a Deutz /Perkins/cummins engine and a branded alternator that they cant any parts for because they are approximate copies not genuine and just different enough to stop interchangeability or maybe avoid patent infringement !!!
from what I can see ... the dealers don't need any help in the screwing themselves stakes

Thought I'd update, even if I get slated for picking the worst digger Takeuchi ever made...
Went with TB216 canopy new from local dealer.

They had a few secondhand models in, TB016, TB216 and Bobcat E19.

The 016 was only a few grand cheaper than brand new 216 so was out straight away.
The 216 they had in was 4 years old and looked to be in decent condition but again too close to new price to make it worthwhile.
The Bobcat was rusting in holes through the skirt and pressed steel bulkhead behind the seat at 5 years old, and was up for the same price as the much older TB016.

All much better than what I'm used to, but for the difference in price, the new 216 made most sense, and the rusting of the Bobcat put me off buying the E19 new

Have spent the day using the machine today, about 6ft deep in hoggin at home, and honestly I'm more than happy with it.

Thanks all for the advice.
Ash.

Good luck with the new machine 👍

Bobcat quality is piss poor, no end of 1+ year old machines with paint flaking off

Still a 25k machine 👆 for an unknown Chinese brand! The difference in price isn't enough for me! What would resale value be in 5 years when you have it paid off?
Not enough for the risk in my opinion.
That man speaks wise words!!! My old Kubota still has more value at 10years old than one of those at 10weeks!!! 🤣🤣🤣

Not sure about that :ROFLMAO: but I try my best, Everything will sell if priced right, I just wouldn't like to see what it would be in 5 years!

Got to be worth a test drive imho - great spec and paint might even stay on it.

Totally agree, It could be the best mini out there and market leader in 5 years, I just think for the price you would get a more established brand with "known" resale value

I will add I like the look of them and the spec seem great!

Thought exactly that myself....one does wonder if they hoovering up sales from lack of availability from big brands? When it's all settled down let's see if it makes the big names sharpen their pencils?

has to be said ... they look a tidy enough tool ... and as already said ... yer never know, could be a market leader in 5 years .... priced a little better/at a more tempting level for the gamble, they could even clean up, with the shortage of gear from mainstream suppliers, currently and could even prove to be damned good tools ..... plenty of precedents out there

My recent experience of newer kit and its quality would make me look - why not .... its not like the main brands are setting the bar really high - needs some backup behind them though.

Its ok saying there not cheap enough for the gamble which i couldn't agree more with. But if as say they are using yanmar engines main brand pumps and hydraulic components etc maybe the fact they are not that far under the established manufacturers price wise actually means we aren't paying over the odds. I am led to believe that the uk market is very competitive and elsewhere in Europe pays a fair few % more than we do for machines.

The worry of Chinese saying they use this and that brand is trusting the actually do. Have you ever had a Chinese torch? They are usually rated at some massive amount of lumes, but I guess they are Chinese lumes.

Exactly that and also many component manufacturers will make different grades of component to suit different price ranges. There's still all the bits between to sort as well. I know someone who works for a hydraulics company (big one there won't be a digger maker that doesn't get stuff off them) and there's a whole lot more to it than just buying bits and fitting them on a machine. A lot of what they do will be specific to manufacturer they are supplying, some not as much!

We pay a lot more here than the U.K - I can usually buy in the U.K, transport here , run for 3 years or more and get my money back, prices have come down a lot here in recent years but they are still maybe 20 - 25% higher.
25k might be close to the price of the major brands but what about a major brand with the spec of that sunward - wouldnt that be more like 30k ?
