can you see the yard from your house ? Say a camera high up on a gable ?
It'd be a fair old camera to gain any usable images from at that sorta distance. Think i'd be more inclined to trench a small armoured cable across and have a WIFI link bounce the camera data back to the house. No NVR required on site just a camera or two mounted high up a post with antennas. 230V feed wouldn't need to be massive either.

If that's an option deffo way to go. Run cables . Even chuck a fibre in...not a lot of money if u know someone . Bit of a dark art. Not rocket science.

not really they can be lensed to suit 300m
True but the focal length would be that tight so covering a yard area would be doable but tricky.

I’d run power and a Shielded CAT 6 cable back, can’t beat hardwired 👍🏼

Hmm, not in the same conduit though. Added to the fact the signal degrades over a short distance so at 200-300m you want real good quality cable. Might be little cost difference but greater security potentially as they have to have a manual connection to interfere with the cable link.

Might be worth adding I use Comtec in Huntingdon for all my network crap. Good stuff and decent to deal with. Used em for years. Their Ultima stuff is good for the money.

2~300m should be no problem for WiFi if you use a directional antenna at one end so long as the radio path isn't totally blocked.

Had a quick look, and there are a few UK sellers of 4G trail cams (another site). Not ideal for long term, but quick to setup.
You'd want to make sure the camera can be set to only alert between certain hours or it'll drive you nuts during the day.

if you have no mains there is no getting away from solar and batteries.

id want a couple of 120w panels and a couple of deep cycle batteries wired in parallel and then run the cctv and wifi off 12v.

Bury/put the batteries under a ton conc block to stop the travelling fraternity from borrowing it.
