Does the TB230 come with dual aux ready to go or did you need to have the setup aswell with the tilty?
My first tilty set up was a 4 hose system but it was a pain to use. I use a grab under it most of the time & having to click a button on the joy stick to swap from tilt function to grab got awkward & when swapping buckets with the quick hitch open disabled the tilt aswell so the next tilty set up I went full control system & it is so much nicer to use because I can use all the functions all the time especially loading buckets & attachment’s on the lorry with the hitch unlocked just picking them up on the front pin by being able to tilt & rotate at the same time saves so much time

Im sure full fat is better but I have ss9 and i dont regret not going full fat.
Dont do any grab work to speak of though so maybe in that scenario, but look at what @Storrsy does with what hes got :)
Swopping buckets with hitch open does disable tilt but hardly a huge problem, a bit of deft use picks them up a pop anyhow and dont have the issue loading buckets or attachments as use the gripper on back for all that.
You've had both setups so are better placed to judge but ss9 is a long way from getting out and swopping buckets with gloves and a hammer :)

Running a grab all the time under a rotator and also a six pipe tilty, I can’t see when I’d ever use tilt with a grab under an engcon.

On smaller machines a sensible sized grab would be slow to open and close through the tiny galleries on the tilty too.

Good stuff all around for me to take into account. Right now for me the best option I have setup/money/finance is what I got from Kubota yesterday and that's a U27-4 with a direct mount Engcon ec02 and trailer that I can get financed for 10% deposit at 2.5% over 5 years which is easily the best offer I have got from all the other brands I have spoken too other then Takeuchi who I'm going to talk to tomorrow. This is obviously not the best as the U27-4 is close to zero swing and not pushing the 3.2ton limit but trying to find the perfect if I have learned is not easy at all.

I'm not a tilty expert but my gut instinct of handling lots of heavy things is if your going to go Kubota go with the Kx030-4. You have the capacity to tow and it will be way more planted than the U27. They have the bigger 4cyl engine in them too which aside from other benefits I've been reliably told is quieter in the cab than the 3cyl which is in the u27

That was what I was planning to look at buy the dealer doesn't have that model anymore, they do have the KX033-4 which i looked at but its an older machine and doesn't have the hydraulics needed and would cost a fair bit more to be fitted with them. Like I said finding the machine that fits best is turning out to be a real pain in the ass.

Fingers crossed tak comes up with something - I know some on here are happy with theirs but ive been underwhelmed with new little kubotas - bloke i know is getting shut of a 3.5t kub thats nearly new and going Takeuchi and hes been kub forever on his minis.
The one I had a bit of seat time was a pretty poor place to spend your day.

For what it's worth given your 3.2 ton payload I'd be going down the TB230 route. It's probably the most stable machine that you will equip with a tilty and a few buckets and still be able to tow

Yeah I'm gonna be talking to them tomorrow so fingers crossed they have them and can possibly sort something finance wise that works.

Hmm thanks for letting me know, I'll have to give it some thought.

Out of interest what kind of trucks and trailers are you using over there for the 3.2ton payload?

Wish we had the ability for 3.2 would make life much better

Just bought it yesterday, Its a Mitsubishi fuso canter 515 it can be driven as a 4.5GVM on a car license which is what I did but its built to be a 5.5GVM so It can tow 1000kg more then normal.

If you haven't spent anytime on a U27-4 go and drive one.. I dont t find them great at all, a very rattlely hire spec maxhine in my opinion.
Im not totally against fitting tiltrotators to zero tail machines, but with your towing options the TB230 if definitely worth a look

Since @1RB suggested the TB230 that has definitely jumped out as the best option but I'm also trying to work out good finance options and no one else but kubota was offering anything below 8% so I don't have to high hopes for Takeuchi but fingers crossed.

Use Kubota’s finance rates to beat the Takeuchi salesman around the head and body!
Definitely don’t get a zero swing machine unless your work dictates that is what you need - they are already a compromise before you hang a tilty off the end of one.
We are having a bit of an economic downturn over here and dealers are swamped with unsold machinery so new prices are softening and finance rates are on the floor (for the first time since before covid) - it’s very much a buyers market right now. From the rates you are suggesting it looks like the economy in Oz is doing well right now I guess?

Seems rather ironic, you have the extra towing capacity that as @Storrsy says we would love to have, but it seems a more limited choice of machines?
the TB230 would certainly be my choice, I’ve had three 8t Takeuchi’s and love them and made the mistake of fitting a Tiltrotator to a 3t zero tailswing machine.
The only other option would be the Yanmar you mentioned and add multiple extra counterweights but seems a bit pointless if you can get a suitable deal from your Takeuchi dealer. 👍
